Honoring our seniors

I think you are misremembering. Svet played 127 games - 3 full years plus 19 games in her senior year until she tore her Achilles. Shea played a full freshman season, sat out her sophomore one due to a torn ACL, then completed two full years plus 30 games in her final year, a total 128 games.

Take a look at the injuries suffered by DePaul in the last couple of seasons. Like UConn, they struggled to find enough healthy players at times. Injuries have been a nationwide epidemic and are not the fault of trainers

Re: Svetlana and Shea

This was sort of my point. They were both injured (at the worst times) but those were nothing compared to the injuries that this class of 2026 has experienced. Some of these players have missed most of the Uconn careers.

I dont know what is going on with the injuries in all sports today. I reference the Yankees because their team has been decimated with countless season ending injuries..

Same with the 49ers football team... I am sure there are dozens of other teams ruined by injuries like DePaul too.

Maybe there is something in the water lol.

Why redshirt sophomore Ayanna Patterson participated in UConn women's basketball Senior Day (gift link)

Geno Auriemma understands Patterson needs more time to get her feet back completely under her. On Saturday, Patterson injured her hip and tried to push through the pain during Sunday’s game before needing to come out. The Huskies’ Hall of Fame coach applauds her determination in wanting to get back to where she was.
“Yanna, from the time that she got here as a freshman, has always been one of the best people to have as a teammate, because she engages with everyone,” Auriemma said. “She works exceptionally hard. She's no maintenance. … Yanna has gotten a lot out of this. Unfortunately, it didn't translate to having the opportunity to do it on the court.”
