OK now I am starting to believe the conspiracy now. I come home after a long day of work, after I hear about Wolf on the boneyard, but click on ESPN and it is on the news feed? WTF? We are not part of a major conference right now, and I bet somthing similar is hapening at all the SEC schools ritght now. Why is this on the front page of ESPN?

I do not want to minimize what Wolf did or what happened to that poor girl but is it because we ar e in CT and the ESPN reporters are lazy? Did the Southerland issue make the front page of ESPN?

Shabazz could score 30 points hand out 14 assists and grab 11 boards on Wednesday and not end up on the front page of ESPN.

Instead of being out all hours he should have settled in with a nice game of Apples to Apples.

It'd be something if Pink Apples was Enosch's squeeze then he saw Niels with her in the Boneyard (the site and the bone;);)yard)

You're a national program and a kid assaulted a coed. It's newsworthy

So sean you're telling me PC kids can do what they want because no one cares? Oh crap they already do and we have no idea.......

Hey if he "hit" her he deserves everything thrown at him...let's wait!! Either way still stupidity.

Wolf is averaging 3.4 and 3.4, and UConn is not ranked and will not be playing in the postseason. It is a little puzzling how this made the front page of ESPN's website.

Cam Newton's dad is literally taking bids on his son's services, and ESPN barely even lets its columnists comment on it. A role player on a team that isn't going to the post season is charged with a bunch of minor offenses and it is front page news.

So then... PC could be swallowed up by a sinkhole and no one outside of Providence would ever hear about it?

Yeah.....I guess that's about right.

Shabazz could turn water into wine and walk on water and he would not end up on ESPN. And if he did, at the end of the article Andy Katz would say, "UConn is facing a post-season ban, forcing Oriakhi and Smith to transfer."

Oh so there's some minimum number of minutes and ppg for someone to make the front page following an arrest, and Wolf doesn't meet that criteria. Ooooooookay.

He's 7' and physical. What the hell is he doing fighting a girl? What the hell is he doing out that late? Is there a pattern of behavior with him? WTF.

What is a 7 footer doing throwing hands with a female ? !?!?!

Hogwash. UConn "earned" this by what was allowed to happen over the years, especially since the Price-Williams affair and the Nate Miles affair. It is relatively easy to "sell" this incident combination of the two, which of course it isn't at all. But here's an idea. Don't get in a fight with a woman at 5AM. And even if you do, don't push her around, and if the cops tell you to move along, move a-friggin'-long. Any of those things happen and there is no story for ESPN to put on the front page or anywhere else. And as for the Syracuse situation, sorry, a story about a kid flunking Sociology and English or whatever is NEVER going to trump one about sex and violence. Never has. Never will.

I know nobody likes to hear this, but UConn has a reputation as a rogue program outside the boundaries of this state. Calhoun did lots of wonderful things but his chip on the shoulder, do anything to win approach did nothing to help the way UConn is viewed. At some point he made a deal with the devil to get his 3rd title and UConn is still paying the price. And the funny thing is that the 3rd title came to a team that was nothing like what UCOnn's rep had become.

Free, I love that you are a provocative poster here on the Yard and I love reading your thoughts but I can't let your "made a deal with the devil to get his 3rd title" line go unchallenged. really? How exactly did Calhoun do that?

I don't recall anything coming out during the '11 NC run or afterward about that NC team that even hinted at any improprieties whatsoever let alone any NCAA involvedment. You yourself even say in your post that team was "nothing like what UConn's rep had become.." which is it?

I would argue you are determining what "UConn's rep" was/is by reading rivals message boards (jealousy and glass houses come to mind when rebutting such rivals claims).

I know you are a UCONN fan and want what is best for our Huskies (I am an alum in addition to a fan (atic), but your desire to seem overtly impartial or maybe the better way to put it is constantly play Devil's Advocate, occasionally makes you sound like a jealous Cuse (insert any rival) fan.

I don't think it is your intention, however IMHO your posts can, at times, make you appear to be almost ashamed to be a UCONN/Jim Calhoun fan. If you haven't already done so, please read Peter Burns' excellent, balanced "Shock the World" for what I believe to be a very fair account of Calhoun and what he built at UCONN.
