That's the game I remember. The Huskies lost a number of games that year , but in each
of the other losses I had always felt that UConn might somehow pull it out.

I never felt like that about the MSU game. They won every "quarter" of that game.
UConn was never in it.

But, as Nan says, MSU was pretty good that year. In fact, if memory serves, MSU went
all the way to the title game, losing to Baylor.

that might be one of the worst losses ever for a top 10 team. stuff like that happens all the time in the men's game. can anyone think of worse performances by a team with elite 8 aspirations?
Actually, if you factor in the size of the loss and the fact that they were healthy, I'd say Kentucky's loss to Middle Tennessee by 12 was pretty comparable. I know MTU is much better than VT, and the game was at MTU, but they lost by 12 and didn't have an All-American out with an injury.

For pure shock value though that one can't compete with MD losing to V Tech at home.
