Yeah high ankle sprains aren't something you just spray with some numbing spray, tape up, and grit it out. It takes time.
I remember back in 1997 I was playing in a rec softball game and sprained my ankle rounding second base.
Took a solid 3-4 to get comfortable playing again.
Not sure too many people will see your post in Hurley's press conference. But I did.

If he’s fully healthy in 6 weeks, it has some decent silver linings in terms of others getting reps. If longer, we’re obviously playing with fire.

Our January schedule is much easier than our February schedule, so maybe he will be back for Marquette on 2/1?

7 games in January. Providence at home. Villanova away. Georgetown away. Creighton home. Butler home. Xavier away. DePaul home.

Then Marquette on 2/1.

Wonder how this board will look like in 27 days.

It is going to be hard to win without Liam.

The ‘23 champs were a 4 seed. So these guys will be a 3. Nothing to see here. (Let's just hope Duke is in our bracket.)

I'm surprised some posters seem to be playing it off like it's no big deal and we'll be better for it in the long run. It sucks he's going to miss a significant chunk of his one season here but it's also likely to be a little ugly on the court at times.

We do have some depth and it will be nice to get them reps but we don't have anyone who does all the things Liam does and we're down to one legit ballhandler and penetrator now. Liam and Hass are indispensable for this team...

Maybe Mahaney steps up but we haven't seen it yet from him, maybe Nowell steps up but we haven't seen it yet from him. I don't think Ross is capable of doing those things in this stage of his development and Hurley just seems down on Jaylin based on his playing time and lack of talk about him.

It's good that the schedule doesn't look too tough for the next few weeks but I expect we'll take some lumps. Seeding is important and our strength of schedule isn't doing us any favors. We can't take too many losses. I'm very high on this team but a lot of that has to do with Liam.

Sobering news. Liam facilitates the offense so well -- the ball seems to stick when he's off the court.

Time for Stewart and Ross to show that NBA potential. They've shown flashes, but not the consistency...yet.

Sobering because the schedule may be better this month, but it’s still not going to be easy unless someone (or two) finds a few more gears. We need some north/south action to the hoop to appear.

I think this could actually help Nowell. DH talked about Mahaney getting more pt, which will be at the 2. So AN should get time behind Hass. That could be a bigger benefit than Ross or Stew getting more pt.

I called it in the chat when he returned in a boot. You boot for high ankle sprain. JS and JR are going to get a chance to step up. Maybe more PT for AN.

I could not agree more I just went on a little rant in the Hurley press availability thread to a post that said we were all over reacting. From my point of view it is a big deal and I feel badly for Liam most of all, think about it more than likely costs him some auto hardware as BE ROY, I really hope it does not impact draft status. We (or some of us ) also know he just does not come back in four weeks and we go right back to what we were becoming.

This injury changes the whole trajectory of the team we were becoming and now we really won’t know that until mid February and that is if Liam comes back in the projected timeline.

It definitely sucks and it took the wind out of my sails for the victory against DePaul and even today when I was watching other college basketball games.

But what can you do and what can the Huskies do? Make the most of it and optimize the situation. This is a chance for Stewart, Ross, Mahaney, and Nowell to step it up. Hurley and the staff will have to make those 4 understand that with Liam's injury those 4 guys have a great opportunity to showcase their abilities even more. As for Liam the human being, I hate this for him. We all know how much it is killing him that he can't play right now.

It’s Stewie’s time to step up. Stewart getting more playing time and confidence is only a great thing come tournament time, assuming he’s the player most people feel he is.
