Turn in the keys P gave you to Burton. Worry about coaching your own players and your own teams at your level you self-important wanna-bes. No endorsement letters this time. And don't put your own interests ahead of your players when the next coach comes to recruit your kids, like you did with Edsall

But we may lose the three kids a year that UConn got, who really can play at that level. Hell Florida had more top kids (Hernandez, Reed, and Murphy) than UConn got during the past 7-8 years.

That opinion is not particularly out of line - coaches see things from a different perspective.

Read the quotes from the AAC coaches on P's firing. They are genuinely dismayed about it.

They're not right or wrong, but their perspective is far different from ours. Our perspective is that this had to be done as it was doing weekly damage to something that we have a sort of equity in.

The athletic director has to consider both perspectives and in this case, I think he did and I think the right course was chosen - all P had to do to retain his job for the rest of the year was to avoid being destroyed by Buffalo.

Coaches don't want their AD's to get any ideas!:)

Of course they're dismayed. It's now possible that they could play against a competitive UConn team.

You are much more diplomatic then me. Had I created this thread, my post to the CT coaches would've read....STFU!!!!! in 72 font.

Don't get me wrong I love this state... However I'm not stupid and I realize that we're not TEXAS, we're Connecticut, there are only so many 3 and 4 start recruits that come from our state. I never understood the love affair FHCPP had with CT HS coaches? We wouldn't get those recurits regardless at this point if the program keeps losing...

Marce Petroccio is one arrogant a_s_shat! i can't wait until Jack Cochran beats him good! These guys need to STFU and worry about getting the ciAc rules about OTA's loosened up and made more like NJ or PA!

The AAC coaches are dismayed because their automatic win against UConn may no longer be there. Just like we all felt when Louisville fired Kragthorpe.

These guys really need to get over themselves! They send what...1-2 guys to BCS schools every 5-10 years. Petruccio, Fillipone...they need to think about what they are saying. if the performance of the ol coached by George DeLeone the past 2 seasons and the overall performance by Pasqualoni the past 3 years is acceptable to them then there records are the product of good kids and not their coaching! If they want to "shut down" the pipeline to UCONN again like they had done previously..as a born and bred CT native I could give a s_h_i_t now! I'll take the performance of teams like Edsall had over what has been on the field the past 3 years! They can slam Warde Manuel all they want...can't change the fact that their over inflated view of themselves and their product hampers him in trying to get home in home series set up against good teams. The reason: there are not enough high caliber prospects in CT each year to make it worth their while when they can just give them a sales pitch by recruiting them! These guys need to pay attention to easing up CIAC rules to make their product better...not threaten to cut off the pipeline!

What does this even mean?

UConn has had lots of good kids come from Connecticut in the last 8 years.

Recruiting on some level is about relationships between people. When you tell HS coach that you don't need to see Amari Spivey's taps because the kid isn't a 1a player, you have two problems on hand. Why not take the tape and tell the coach you'll be in touch.

There has to be a happy medium. You can't create a situation where the next time that coach has a stud HS player your eliminated off the bat due your sheer arrogance.

There seems to be a lot of disconnect in this thread.

Edsall took a lot of Connecticut kids. He wasn't only recruiting PA.

There was nothing in that article remotely close to slamming UCONN. Guys expressing disappointment over a guy they were close to being fired. Most said they understood based on results. The boneyard needs to not be so sensitive. Worse things are going to be said about the timing of this firing.

Paul did do a good job with the high school coaches in the area. The work done in this area should continue under the next regime.

"I think he contradicted himself" isn't a shot at Manuel?

The haughty "should have let him try to fix it in conference play" stuff is a joke. Like a previous poster said, these guys clearly have either not been watching the games or are throwing the player under the bus and -- wait for it -- blaming P's troubles on Edsall.

Having 23,000 people pay serious coin for a product requires a bit of a higher standard of success than what is required to make 500-1,000 relatives, neighbors and friends of players happy.

Just glad Burton isn't these guys' playpen anymore.

You damn right they are, that was a guaranteed win for them.
