The AD takes the credit for a good hire, the committee spreads the blame if it is a bad hire. Standard risk management.

Except last time around, the committee seemed to settle on one name and the AD picked another.

CT high school football coaches are a very close knit fraternity. They support and protect and defend their own. PP and GDL are part of that fraternity. Consequently we read their comments it should be no surprise.

But we are dealing with D1 big time football. They should have no say or input into who Uconn decides to hire or fire.

PP was the anti-Edsel for them. They felt vindicated and now they feel disrespected. Too bad.

Should our head coach have positive relations with these coaches - yes. Should he kiss their *** - NO!

Maybe, if they were more supportive of Uconn football, the story would be different.

I like the preferred walk-on thing that Pasqualoni did for a CT kid who is that FCS or high level D-2 ability but may just miss the cut as a FBS level prospect coming out of high school. But if these guys that were quoted in that article think they are going to "influence" another hire they can go pound sand!

Out of curiosity, does the CT HS coaches have a good relationship with Addazio up at BC, another former CT HS coach?

Jeez guys. Really. Seriously. S-T-F-U .. . . now Filippone who calls out Warde and basically calls him a liar. What, he's going to try to get Walsh to transfer now? The Hand pipeline to Storrs is going to be cut off? What a .

Filippone disregarded the part of the quote where WM reserved the right to change his mind if circumstances warranted a change. I thought WM was very clear on possible "timing."

He was VERY clear on that...said it a few times actually. Iovino, Fillipone, Petruccio, Marinelli they can't seem to be able to take friendship out of this equation. To be honest the guys like Cochran and Marinan seem to get it, understand exactly why the move was made.

For the first time in my life I am a bit embarrassed that my last name has four syllables and ends in a vowel.
