Brimah still has a ways to go. He's a terrific shot blocker, but his footwork and instincts when he leaves the area right around the basket are weak. Not to mention his rebounding skills are weak. He is gonna be a good one for sure, but he's not there yet.

His hands/reactions get a little worse the trickier the play gets. The no looks and thread the needles are tough on him. The alleyoops or dump offs on the break, he catches and he looks very fluid (compared to Emeka or Thabeet at the same age). Similarly, when he can go get the rebound in one fluid jump, he looks impressive. When bodies are jostling or there's a deflection, he doesn't react as well. Thabeet was the same way, but that's one area Emeka has them both beat. His rebounding was as impressive as his shotblocking coming out of the chute.

Why don't we try zone defense once in a while. With Brimah down low it would be a difficult match for any team.

Because we have never, ever been a zone team. And God willing, never will.

We played it a bit in the 2nd half. Would be interesting to see...

Was definitely not expecting the announcers to make the comparison. Pretty crazy some of the things he already does on a world class level. If he can learn when to go for the block vs box out than that will greatly improve his impact on the game. He is a very unique player for sure.

Until this year I'm guessing Brimahs concept of defense was roam around and block shots. I'm happy with where he's at, interested to see how fast he can adjust to stronger bodies pushing him around.
