Wow he stays for his senior year, wins the title, and could possibly be hand picked by the best player on the planet to be his PG. Why don't more people stay in college again?

"LeBron wants him. LeBron needs him. LeBron gets him."
Make it happen...

This is what I know about the NBA recently, what LeBron James wants, LeBron James seems to get... Too bad San Antonio did not get get the memo this year! ;)

A person I work with has many connections with Nike, his mentor was Bill Bowerman, and he has a patent he created that nike funded his research.

He told me 3 weeks ago, before the NBA playoffs were over, Lebron was going to opt out of his contract. I didn't believe him and then it happened. Said Lebron doesn't like living in Miami and misses Akron and not to be surprised if he goes back to Cleveland. He spends all his off season in Akron and is not a huge fan of living in South Beach.

I cant really see him going back to Cleveland but I think he wants to go somewhere other than Miami.
I think new york makes a lot of sense. He's older now he realizes that being in a huge international market is in his best interests. But I think he wants to win too. If new york can pair some pieces together I like their chances.

Mitch McGary. Isiah Austin. Joel Embiid. Marcus Smart.

Do I need to keep going? For every guy that returns and raises his draft stock, another guy returns and his stock falls.

I agree with your point but Embiid and Austin are not good examples.

I do get amused when I came out with the Heat's interest in Bazz, people shot it down

I'm starting to feel bad for you because I think you're literally mentally ill. You mentioned the Heat being interested in Shabazz weeks after it was all over the internet, and people pointed that out to you. You're moving from unintentionally hilarious to sad.

Here is a longer read:
https://espn.go.com/nba/truehoop/mi...shabazz-napier-attempt-lure-back-lebron-james

How about this?

"Right after the NBA Finals, Riley flew out to work out Napier, a Heat source told ESPN.com. After the workout, the Heat tried to convince the former Huskies star to stop his workouts so that he'd fall to the Heat with pick No. 26."

Recruited by the best player in NBA and one of greatest Coach/GM/President? How about it, BYers?

still isn't considered the greatest Husky to play in Storrs by some here.

When you have the likes of Kemba, Oak, Ray, RIP, etc., there are realistic arguments to be made. #UConnProblems.

no arguments to be made, 2 championships final 4 MOP. no other can say this. now you have the best player in the game endorsing him? no contest.

Miami is a huge international market. I think he is chasing Jordan and his main concern will be catching him. Whoever offers the best chance to do that, while paying him 20 mill plus per, will get him. I think he'll end up staying in Miami.

OK - let's do a hypothetical: You are the GM of an NBA team and you get to draft Kemba, Oak, Ray, RIP or Bazz just coming out of college (at their come out date with no NBA knowledge of how they will do) - who do you choose? There's no obvious choice - most likely you go with Oak.

If you are saying who produced the most hardware at UConn - I can give you Napier. But greatest Husky - there's a lot of arguments for any. Again - #UConnProblems.

i would say ray was the best prospect ever to come out of storrs IMO. maybe thabeet, oak was fantastic but not a specimen. allen was the prototype two guard perfect body, with the sweetest jumper AND a run+jump, thabeet was a 7'3 monster who dominated ncaa hoops, but unfortanately didn't have the work ethic/trajectory . napier isn't the best prospect to come out of storrs, but he was the most productive college player we've had. No clue what the future holds for him; injury free he could be special . really can't wait to find out where he lands tomorrow.

Will be interesting tomorrow night for Bazz. He's not making the Ben Gordon jump, but he's definitely making NBA teams take notice. If the Heat really want Bazz that much, they shouldn't be publicizing as such. If other teams know that, they'll only make it more difficult. A watch & see kind of night!

I think it's also at least worth pointing out the caveat that Bazz is the only Mt Rushmore guy who played four years. Rip, Oak and Kemba all would have had a chance to win two as alpha dogs both times. No guarantees of course, but all of those teams would have been contenders.

Ray, Rip, and Kemba all go way past 2500 points with four years. If Emeka came back, he'd have finished as a 2000-1500-500 guy. Nobody has ever done that anywhere.

Bazz is certainly in the discussion and a strong case can be made for him. But it's hard. Like you said, #UConnProblems.

I don't disagree with you, but you could play the "what if" game with a lot of guys. If Drummond stays four years, maybe he's the greatest Husky of all-time. He didn't, and they didn't, so we have to evaluate based on what they accomplished. Shabazz played two years here at an elite level - Ray, Rip, and Emeka did the same. I firmly believe that Kemba had the best season in the history of this program, but he only played one year at an elite level, which hurts him in this discussion.

McGary got a raw deal cause he got suspended for smoking some pot. Austin wouldn't have been able to play regardless because he has a genetic condition. But I see your point. It can be beneficial for someone who's a borderline pick.

Boston Globe opinion:

28. LA Clippers: Shabazz Napier, G, Connecticut

Can’t you just see Doc Rivers mentoring Napier as a point guard? Darren Collison is opting out of his contract, so the Clippers need a backup to Chris Paul. What a perfect setting for the polished Napier.

Miami Herald:

Miami Heat looking at Connecticut’s Shabazz Napier on eve of NBA Draft

Heat player personnel have indicated that former UConn guard Shabazz Napier is high on the team’s list of dream picks at Thursday’s NBA Draft.

LeBron James fell in love with Shabazz Napier during Connecticut’s run through the Final Four. Now the Heat might be hoping to land the guard Thursday night in the 2014 NBA Draft.

So who else would be seriously considering buying a Heat jersey if/when Shabazz gets drafted there? Read the Heat may have found a trade partner in the Suns, who have 2 picks in the teens

I still don't see why some would want Bazz to go to the Hornets or Clippers to have a backup role and be a 2nd smaller guard in games. The nba isn't college and it's not the NFL either where guys learn from someone else and moves on to be great.

I like him on the Heat roster where he can take the load of Lebron and make the game easier for all the weapons on the offense. I would really like if they picked up Emeka as a rim protector and rebounder because they do desperately need one. Bosh and Anderson won't cut it at center.

As for other teams I would just like Shabazz to get a starting role with a franchise who isn't a bottom dweller like the Suns or TWolves. I feel like Shabazz will do really well in the nba. I feel like his skillset translates better than Kemba's.
