HC Decision 3 Years Ago - What Could Have Been

This all could have been so very different. We could have hired Steve Addazio who would have done a great job @ UCONN. He showed he can coach with his results @ Temple. He got some good talent to Temple and could have done even better at UCONN. With his local ties, he would recruit the heck out of CT, the Northeast and inject some life into the program.

It pains me to say it, BUT Addazio will turn BC around and they will get back to winning and regular bowl games.

Instead, we have a huge old turd coaching our team and we are thus seemingly going nowhere but downhill fast!

not true. Addazio was hired by BC while Edsall was still the coach here. Addazio was off the table when Edsall snuck off in the night. We did not have a whole lot of options on January 2, 2011.

And lets not forget the success he had down at the University of Florida when they won those championships! Smh would of been great hire

Totally agree with Gars44. Addazio was already signed by Temple and there was no way we were going to attempt to poach him, nor would he corrupt his resume by coming to UConn at that point in time after only being at Temple for only a month…
So please once and for all, can everyone take this option out of the picture when discussing candidates when Edsall quit. Having said that he would have been my first choice if Edsall had quit in early December that year.

Saying we could have gotten Addazio is absolutely wrong. Regardless, the jury is very much out on him as a head coach. One forgets he was 4-7 last year and really struggled as the Florida OC.

Addazio was one of the first coaches we interviewed "Lewconn" When we started interviewing other coaches that's when Temple offered the position right off the back so he took the job. Temple knew they wanted him, Uconn, I don't think knew who they wanted.

He struggled as the Florida OC??? Lol dude know your facts. He was the OC when they had Tim Tebow and Aaron Hernandez. Florida started to struggle offensively after Addazio and Urban Meyer moved on. Temple was 4-7 last year, but one of those wins was against us (Uconn). IMO he would of been successful at Temple if he stood longer.

He didn't interview. He expressed some interest, but Temple wasn't letting him out prior to year 1.

Addazio was IN THE HC JOB at Temple when Edsall left. He was not available ... simple.
