The original with Charlie sheen was better.

He has looked to drive more but also driven from better starting points on the floor. Hurley has done an excellent job of getting him to the right spots on the floor. Earlier in the year a lot of his drives had him going across the paint and ended with him fading away from the basket with awkward layup attempts. Now he is going more directly at the basket.

For his shooting, a lot of opposing coaches will complain about his getting fouled on three point shots, but he really doesn't kick his feet. He does have a pretty wide stance when he jumps though. The problem other teams have is Hawkin's ability to come off a screen, catch and release is so fast defenders momentum can't stop in time to not hit him.

I like how he and Hurley have made some adjustments offensively.

Has really improved his ability to work through contact/physicality to get open.. Not letting the D dictate his off ball movement vs earlier in the year.. Great timing for BET/Tournament..
That is the difference. Good call. Plus he just believes now. That makes a world of difference. He has “ the look”

At the beginning of the year he had to shoot himself into a rhythm. Now he’s automatic.

He’s a lot more comfortable taking the ball to the hoop and finishing through contact.

It’s crazy the amount of times he draws 3 point plays because teams are terrified of his 3. It’s starting to look like we won’t be getting him for another year.

NBA scouts must love how quickly he sets into his gorgeous shooting form. That translates easily to the NBA.

The board needs to moderate its highs and its lows, because I checked, and it turns out that we played Depaul tonight.

Hawkins had a nice game, but it was Depaul.
You're acting like this guy was a scrub before tonight. He was our best shooter and arguably scorer all season

I also like the constant movement- brings back memories of RIP - he works his tail off to get the best shot.

He never looks tired either. That Ray/Rip gene.
There was a point in the 2nd half last night, where he really looked beat. And one possession later, he was back to rubbing defenders off on screens to get open.

Anyone who thinks he isn't a lock for the NBA after this season is delusional. NBA scouts are probably salivating over a guy with a trigger as quick as Hawkins. He has a $250M shooting stroke.

Definitely.

He also especially last year let bad plays eat at him to the point his body language was really down. He’s playing without fear and attacking.
Well that’s because he knows he’s getting minutes regardless.

Last year if he made a bad play he was probably getting pulled. Now that he’s “the guy” and has leash he gets to be confident without worrying about making mistakes.

You can tell he cares about playing A LOT to the point he was almost crying when he got the concussion earlier in the year. Happy to see him really starting to come on as he’s been getting better and better the more he plays.
