I can figure out where to go post game, but does anybody have a few good recs for food pre game? Potentially will bring kids…

We've had decent meals at the Red Rock Cafe. Big menu and right on 44 next to campus. In the 80's there was a bar/pizza place there that occasionally had bands, maybe called Oscars. Can't quite remember.

You live in FFLD too?

I second Willington Pizza. The food is good, the beer selection is above average, the staff are great, and the place is a time capsule. It has not changed since I graduated in 1995
I'd 3rd Willi Pizza. Great stuff!

I hope anyone recommending Willington Pizza isn’t acting a snob in the pizza thread because man I was extremely disappointed when I went following a Gampel game this year after having not gone since I was a student.

But anyway, Bidwell is good and kids would probably like Student Union food. They would probably like Red Rock. I liked what I got at Hops 44 the one time I went. I love Kathmandu but I’m not sure I would take kids there. I’ve gotten Haven Hot Chicken in Orange and it was solid, but haven’t had any from the new Storrs location.

Anyone been to Jefferson Fry Co?

I need to get to willimantic more

I think Camille's Wood Fired Pizza is way better than Willington and maybe a half mile away. Willington gets super crowded, it's nostalgic (for some reason) and the pizza is average at best.
Camille's has good craft beers also. Pizza was pretty good but don't expect New Haven style good.

There’s not much in Storrs if anything at all worthwhile.

But yea don’t slam Willington Pizza it is what it is and doesn’t try to be anything else. Plus when you’re wasted after a W those mozzarella wedges are slamming.

Great potato pizza! Plus Shea used to work there while she was a student. Plenty of photos of her on the walls. I'd guess her tips were pretty good!

Now - players can get paid just for having their pictures on the wall
