leaving us with only 2 rpi top 50 wins...Fla & Memphis. UConn 2-4 overall vs top 50.

Indiana(75) just lost at home to Penn State, Maryland(74), Wahington(83), Harvard(53) all figured to be in/near the top 50. They all have chances to improve but not holding my breath, Harvard may slip back in. On the flip slide BU(106) & Yale(145) are both tied for their league lead and doing ok.....And ofcourse BC as always stinks.

Luckily we have 4 AAC games left vs top 50....hopefully we go 3-1 to finish at 5-5 vs top 50. Ofcourse UConn in no danger of missing tourney right now, just annoyed at OOC teams screwing with our seeding.

This is true, but Florida is very nearly (not quite, but very nearly) making up for it all by itself. Most analysts I've heard lately think they're the best team in the country. And we beat them. That will count for something.

Yeah, Florida could end up a #1 seed...fantastic win, I just wish another OOC would step up a little. BU & Ivy winner may end up being only other OOC opponents to make tourney and BU no lock to win conference.

Indiana was up 9 with 2 minutes to go against PSU @ home and lost, unbelievable. Not surprising they have struggled tho, they're a young team dealing with the gauntlet that is the Big 10

I couldn't believe they blew that. Blowing that game to nearly any other team in the Big 10 is at least fathomable. But a 12-12 Penn State team? At home nonetheless. C'mon..

Penn State is a lot better this year though, they won @ Ohio State in the end of January

I cheered when Washington won....they have lots of work left to do...5 of 7 games left at home though.

There's the other side of the coin that says we barely beat a few of those teams and if they were a little better then they would be losses instead of wins.

I was concerned about this before the season even started and, quite frankly, it's been even worse than I imagined.

Back then I complained about how none of those teams would be ranked. Now it's that none of them are even sniffing the top-50 or even within shouting distance of the bubble. With the AAC getting worse, we can't afford another ho-hum slate of OOC games like we've had this year.

To be fair I think Indiana/Harvard were ranked at one point and WA/MD were considered to be possible tourney teams in pre-season....they have just underperformed. I think we intended to have a pretty strong OOC schedule, just hasn't worked out that way.

You mean UCONN gets a shot at mediocrity if they go 3-1 v. top 50 teams. LOL at how pathetic and desperate the Huskies have become.

Who gives a f@ck? Were getting hot, were ranked in the top 25, if we go on a run to end the season we will have a good tourney seed. Were in fine position to make a deep run I the tourney and I could give a rats ass what our OCC opponents do. Win 5 or 6 games in March/April and no one will remember who was on our schedule

I give a , because your strength of schedule determines how easy or difficult it is to win those 5-6 games in March/April.

A 27-7 record with our weak schedule gets us a 5 seed, a difficult 2nd round game, and a highly unfavorable Sweet 16 matchup.

A 27-7 record with a stronger schedule would get us a 2-3 seed and favored through the Elite 8.

These things matter. When Harvard is your second best OOC opponent, the Committee takes notice. Playing in MSG and Barclays is nice, but not if it comes against mediocre teams.

If we win, it doesn't matter. Look at Wichita State. We are 2-4 against top 50 with a terrible loss to Houston, but that was then and now this team is really coming together. We have Memphis, Louisville, Cinci and SMU left on our schedule. Three of these games are home! If we win, it doesn't matter.

We played and beat Florida. That is a pretty darn good OOC opponent, if you don't mind me saying.

Forget it, let's just talk about how awesome we are. Not a knock on team, they're playing great. Just pointing out how dismal some of OOC opponents have played recently, which unfortunately affects OUR tourney seeding because the selection commitee cares.

If 2 out of Indiana/Harvard/Wash/MD were ranked as we had hoped when we scheduled them we might currently be considered a 4-5 seed instead of a 7 seed and our ceiling with a good finish might be a 2-3 seed instead of 4-5 seed. Obviously a 4-5 seed can win it all, just a little easier path as a 2-3 and if we totally run the table we could still be a 2-3.

Only butterfly and rainbow posts the rest of the way:D

These teams are .500 in the ACC and Pac-10, having beaten ranked teams. Eveb Maryland is doing a mediocre job in the ACC. If you'er going to give ACC and Pac12 teams credit for their conference schedules, then you give uConn credit for beating Maryland and winning at Washington. Playing at Washington is not easy, as Cal. and Arizona and Oregon found out.

I wish we could play teams like Kansas, Duke, Kentucky Mich. St, and the like every year. I'm not a squid fan but he always plays a great ooc schedule.

I still don't get how they lost that game. They could have intentionally tries to throw the game (I thought it was 11 BTW) and still won.
