He stirs the drink and our offense and defense go to hell and a handbasket without him. Because we're so thin at PG, he may be our most important player. There really isn't a backup if he gets two quick fouls.

Hassan is averaging 9 assists per game over his last 5 games, all against good competition. Add in the D he plays and I am left to conclude that he is generally underappreciated.

Hass has been amazing this season. He's the best we have at handling the press, initiating the motion offense, and along with McNeeley, they're the two who are the best at driving the paint, attacking the basket and finding open teammates.

I know he's not shooting it as well as he did last season, but it's probably the result of looking first to set up his teammates, having to handle the ball so much, working hard on the defense end, playing so many minutes with little rest and taking shots with the play clock running down.

I thinks he's going to shoot better as the season goes on. We've all seen him knock down 3s at a solid clip last season. It's just a matter of time, regaining his confidence in his shot.

I posted this a while back that the two most important players are Hass and McNeeley, who do things that their teammates can't do. We saw what happens when neither were on the floor yesterday. We have a shot to beat most teams with one of these not able to play for most of the game, but they'll need both to win the BET and to 3-peat. All the rotation players are important, especially Karaban who's come up big, but I think we can weather the loss of any of those rotation playerers for a game against a top opponent and eek out a W. I'm not so sure we could do that without Hass and McNeeley. Seeing that Liam will probably miss a game or two, I hope we can get past PC and Nova without him. I think we will. Good thing we have Hass.

He’s a lot like Dajuan Harris Jr. at Kansas. Not as good of a defender but crafty, great passers who aren’t huge offensive threats themselves, but both great leaders.

He's absolutely not doing anything crazy. He's not much of a playmaker in the traditional sense of making something happen from nothing. But he's turned into an excellent table setter or NFL QB "game manager." We're running good offense, and he's getting the ball out on time to the right people in the right spots, and we're knocking down shots.

Dejuan is soft as butter - Hass is a dawg. I’ll take Hass every day of the week. Totally different personalities from a leadership position.
No he’s not lol? You don’t become Big 12 DPOY and a 3x All Conference Defender if you’re soft. You must be thinking of someone else.

Dejuan’s teams will be underachieving for a third straight year. He’s definitely a pest on defense but doesn’t do anything distinguishing, as slight. A solid player but not strong enough to be high impact and not a good shooter. He lacks aggression. I had to fact check the B12DPOY, you’re right and surprising, especially with all those maniacs in Houston.

KU fans are ready for him and Adams to graduate.

How many guys just take the ball away from an opponent the way Diarra did the other night?

He’s a better defender than Hassan, and I love Hassan. He also won a championship. He does his job on the court almost every night.

I'll never forget when he called timeout for DePaul last year after we went on one of our signature runs. He's OUR dawg!

They're very similar players this year. But if you watch Harris, you'd see they ask him to create more of their offense. It's actually a testament to Diarra that he got to the point of being a borderline all conference level point guard, like Harris.
