So is the goal at this point for 2019 to get Cole and a big (Manuel?)?

Then the 2020 roster would look something like

Sr - Gilbert, Polley, Carlton, Whaley
Jr - Wilson, Adams, Cole, Manuel
So - Akok, Bouknight, Gaffney
Fr - Jackson, Big (Cliff, Collier, or Springs)

Right. So depth would look something like this:
PG: Gilbert, Cole
SG: Gaffney, Bouknight, Adams
SF: Wilson, Polley, Jackson
PF: Akok, Whaley, Diarra
C: Carlton, Omoruyi/Collier/Springs

That's a legit top 35 team.

Well....this doesn't include the big we may be bringing in this year, but it does include Diarra. Have my doubts Diarra is still in the roster in 2020 (may not end up being on the roster this year due to medical)....

Are we talking about bringing in a non-grad transfer big for this year? Also, if no Diarra then pencil in either Collier or Springs.

Well....Manuel would be a non grad transfer. Have heard his name more than anyone else so was thinking him, but yes that scholarship would open back up if it's a grad transfer.

The most likely big seems to be Valdir Manuel who's a JUCO

I’d take both RJ Cole and Hassan Diarra over Langford.
It’s early for 2020. Diarra was a distant 3rd best guard on his own team last night behind AJ Hoggard and Jamal Mashburn. I know he’s ranked higher than those 2 right now, but things could fluctuate a lot and who knows where our interests will end up.

Any idea if we’re involved with AJ Hoggard? He’s really PSA’s option number 1 and fills our ball handling need better than Diarra or Langford. Makes no sense that we wouldn’t be involved with a 4 star PG on PSA.

Do we want a point guard who can't really shoot it? We never have trouble getting top guards.
GM has left we don’t need to keep doubling down compounding our errors if that’s the case. I actually see Diarra as a defensive guard off the bench who could shut down people or wear them down.

KO offered him. Hurley has shown no interest to date.

“It’s picking up a little bit,” Diarra said. “Schools like Georgia, Texas Tech, VCU, Dayton, they’re all involved, so it’s going pretty well.”

Diarra told 247Sports that Georgia and Dayton have prioritized him the most.

If Gilbert stays next year, I highly doubt we bring in a guard for 2020. Focus will be on:
- Andre Jackson/Cam Thomas
- Cliff Omoruyi/Richie Springs/Noah Collier

Staff is focusing on a wing player and a big for 2020. If Gilbert stays, they won't be going after a guard.

2020 class could be small depending on what else happens for 2019.

2021 class could be big, and that's a great year in New England/NY/NJ.

Springs and collier should be lumped with cliff. Not sure they're options unless we strrike out with better players. Mark Williams and a couple other bigs would be better as cliff backups

My understanding is they would like to fill the last scholarship with a big, but they don't want to reach for someone.
Personally, I'd use it on Issanza if their isn't more immediate help available... because 7' 1". By the time 2021 rolls around he'd be a force at least defensively.

I thought they were talking about bringing in Warde Manuel. I am pretty sure Wardes eligibility is used up.
