I mean, look at SEC and PAC12 all time records against us. (5-0 vs Zona, AND 3 straight vs UK 4-1 all time.) Just to call out their premier schools

And those two particular conferences don't generally offer much else.

Pitt (scum) was the only school that did anything underhanded. The rest of the schools including Quse just did what was best for them. Also I don't believe it was the actual schools that banned us from the BET- if I remember correctly it was the BE itself.

BTW- we are not "bitter"- all those schools including yours can bite us. The only ex-BE schools that mattered to UCONN fans last year was Nova and thats because we played and beat them on the way to a NC.

I personally would love to play a few old BE teams- why not- even the ones I loath like Pitt (scum), Quse or Gtown (Pe-Toowey!).

PeeCee did not play us in the 70s bc Dee Rowe did not want to oppose his former student. Dave G.

So you're saying Dee put his buddy ahead of his program. What about the 60's?

Realistically though why would they have allowed us? There was a remote chance that a school without any chance of an at large bid could've won and gone dancing.
Perhaps because we were part of the Big East Conference, the ban from the NCAA was absolutely unjust (double jeopardy is proscribed in our legal system but only in the mind of the corrupt NCAA was it okay to use to screw over UConn and Coach Calhoun), and our Big East colleagues would want to soften the injustice or our situation unsteady of piling on to an extremely unjust situation?

I mean, my feeling at the time (and I still feel this way) is that we were a part of the league and should have had equal shot at proving we could win the conference tournament. As for the whole at large bid thing...if you don't want it to be an issue make someone beat us. Was it better for the league that Louisville with both feet out the door won? It's not as though some random ass RU/DePaul/Seton Hall team was gonna through and lose to us in the title taking another bid away from the league. By the time a team is in the BET title game they usually have NCAA spot pretty much sealed up.

Considering the fact that the BE schools banned us from their final real tourney, when they previously allowed Syracuse to play while under NCAA suspension, makes me want to have nothing to do with that lot.
I know it benefits us to play G'town, Nova, St. Johns, or Syracuse at the garden, the rest of them can go to hell IMHO.
I feel the same way. They didn't stand up for us and could have by allowing us to play in the BET. They don't deserve to have the privilege to play us.
