I haven't heard of any bad blood between them and us, which is one of the few conferences we can say that about. it'd be nice to have stable OOC competition with the likes of Creighton, GTown, Marquette, and Nova.

Obviously now coming off the NC we haven't had much scheduling trouble, but in leaner years this would be great IMO.

Lots of rumblings - Villanova, Georgetown, and Syracuse have been mentioned. But nothing materialized for this coming year.

I think we were working on something with Georgetown, but believe that was put on the back burner when the Duke game was scheduled.

We have bad blood with a lot of conferences? Some ACC schools, OK, but why is the SEC mad at us, or the Pac 12 or whatever?

Yeah that's true, shouldn't have painted it as if everyone's anti-UConn. Just feels that way lately

I mean, look at SEC and PAC12 all time records against us. (5-0 vs Zona, AND 3 straight vs UK 4-1 all time.) Just to call out their premier schools

Why?

It would benefit a team like G'town or Nova more than it would us. Like other people said, our OOC schedule is fine. And I'm still bitter with the Catholic 7 schools for basically kicking us out. Let them rot while we win national titles.

PS- Harvard is basically an annual top 20 team...better than most of the BE teams anyway

the little east needs to become familiar with the concepts of nuclear vaporization and they then need to experience it to appreciate the experience

Considering the fact that the BE schools banned us from their final real tourney, when they previously allowed Syracuse to play while under NCAA suspension, makes me want to have nothing to do with that lot.
I know it benefits us to play G'town, Nova, St. Johns, or Syracuse at the garden, the rest of them can go to hell IMHO.

I wouldn't say youre far off the mark, its just not the P5 schools that aren't so happy w/ us, more the schools of the old BE, some from CUSA, MWC. I also think the animosity is drying up pretty quickly though bc anyone with a decent head on their should knows UConn caught the rawest of deals pretty much nationwide, and everybody knows realignment = clusterf_ck!

To your original point though, I agree there could be great games with G'town and 'Cuse down the line. Id personally rather play Wisconsin than Marq. and we have Temple so I don't really see the need for 'Nova. Playing PC and BC every once in awhile for old school BE, New England rivalries could be a real good time too IMO.

Not the most likable post, but I cant say your sentiment is wrong either. Would I lose all credibility if I made an alopecia joke?

Football controlled every UConn decision regarding conference choices. It is the only choice UConn has in order to eventually get into a P-5 conference. Us "yahoos" are pissed at the former BE brethren for banning UConn in the final, and real, BE tourney. As a result, there is minimal interest in playing them unless it is of great benefit to UConn. As 4 time, and current National Champions we can easily control our schedule.

Realistically though why would they have allowed us? There was a remote chance that a school without any chance of an at large bid could've won and gone dancing.

or...the rest of the Big East was forced to do what they did which was leave because schools like Providence, Seton Hall, Depaul, St. Johns were sucking on the Big East teet and giving nothing in return. So now you guys can go try and keep MSG relevant in March while UConn, SMU, Houston and Cincinatti compete for national titles elsewhere. By the way, nobody bothered to watch the Big East tournament last year.

Who even won that? Who even cares?

The BE previously allowed Syracuse to compete after they got caught cheating. UConn's suspension was APR, brought on UConn quickly, where UConn couldn't have sufficient time to rectify the problem as they have now.
Simply, the BE schools took the opportunity to really put it to UConn. Screw 'em.

We've had great games with Cuse even before we got good and G'town would sell tickets. I'm good with those. I'm pretty much good with everyone...except BCU and PC. PC wouldn't play us pre-BE when they were good. They're my 'em school.
