Given the recent publicity given Wisconsin, has anyone read of schools that are off-limits to the players that are transferring from Uconn? I am curious if Calhoun has any list for Oriakhi, Smith, or anyone else that wants to transfer.

I would've guessed UK would have been on the top of his list and AO flirted pretty hard with them before deciding to go to Mizzou. I'm also guessing no teams in the Big East and after that, go wherever fits the kid best to be successful. Just guesses though.

No transfers within Big East are allowed per conference rules I thought? That would eliminate any BE teams. Other than that, no schools should be restricted IMO. It's bad pub as Wisky found out and hampers recruiting in the future.

I've never heard of JC restricting kids on possible transfer locations.

No interconference transfers are indeed a Big East rule. I don't know of any conferences that don't have the same rule, but I could just be ignorant of it.

I thought you could transfer in conference but had to sit 2 years by BE rules. I'm not sure how that would work with the APR waiver issue. B10 has it so you have to pay your own way the year you sit out if you transfer within conference.

Student-athletes in the sports of men's basketball, women's basketball and football, are not permitted to transfer (directly or indirectly) from one BIG EAST institution to another BIG EAST institution and participate in any capacity in the sport of men's basketball, women's basketball or football. .... There are no exceptions or waivers to this rule.

No we would have heard about it if Calhoun gave restrictions outside the obvious BE, writers love to hate on Calhoun. However, I bet Calhoun told AO and Scoe to not even think about BC... or else, lol.

Why couldn't they transfer to BC?

UConn doesn't prohibit kids from going anywhere - hell, they've let them head to UMass. I'm sure they would be more than willing to point and laugh if anyone decided that Boston College was their desired destination.

Unfortunately, for BC, anyone seeking greener pastures ain't gonna land in that dung heap.

JC wouldn't limit any release beyond what the conference imposes. It just isn't his style. While he may appear to be a hard ass on the surface, he does have the best interests of the kids at heart and he won't be petty or vindictive if a kid decides to move on (unlike many other coaches).

A Uconn fan would not ask that question.
I know what you mean but,That rivalry to me is so 1 sided for sometime now it wouldn't even matter..Uconn basketball is light years better. Coach C let Doug Wiggins transfer to Umass and I know we have a big rivalry with them from the Calipari days. So I was just wondering if Coach C would even care anymore.

I doubt he would. I also doubt any of former players would even want to join that sinking ship. Oriakhi is from that area, and he didn't consider them.
