Pretty sad that we hear about this from ESPN and not UConn's PR dept.

There is a difference between advertising crucial facts and begging.

Geez - It's a ESPN TV Network report that only came out an hour ago???? It was re-tweeted by UConn MBB within the hour.

Ya I found out from the UConn MBB tweet - so UConn is definitely promoting this.

Didn't notice at first but Cinci is pretty high up there...

Factor in the largely demographically non-overlapping ratings of the girl's teams on SNY, and you can see how much more valuable UConn is than any other team in this new conference. The ratings encompassing SMU, Houston, UCF, etc. in their local markets are pathetic.

You would think Manuel would be hyping this to the whole world, incessantly, in every interview that he gives. Not only does UConn get strong ratings, but because of UConn's following, there are a whole bunch of people that will tune in to the Duke/UNC game, and get generic good ratings to boot. Factor in that the market is a large market is added gravy.

North Carolina benefits from having 4 teams, Kentucky dominates with a healthy dose of Louisville for that market, but Connecticut is all UConn.

Haven't there been reports of the new league trying to work out a seperate BBall contract? Having 3 of the top 14 markets covered cant hurt.

Also, out of the other top 14 markets on that list only 5 are bigger than Hartford-New Haven.

Add Fairfield County to that, and it goes even higher.
Is there no way they can calculate that? I mean, it is part of CT and the Uconn just kills it in the entire state and we lose out on the most heavily populated part of it.

In a rush to assign any sort of blame to the UConn athletic department, he misses a crucial bit of information...

Yeah because the Athletic Dept has really been on the stick lately.

You people will always look for an excuse for this passive attitude. When Pasqualoni wins 3 games this season, what will your excuse be then?

So rather than acknowledging that in this case you rushed to judgement, just avoid blame.

Funny, you sound like what you accuse UConn's athletic department of here.

Passive atittude? - does the Athletic Department not manage the UConn MBB Twitter feed?

You are so predictible Zoo - you need a new schtick. I would have bet $1000 you would have worked a Pasqualoni shot in there.

Twitter feed? We just tweeted this figure to UConn fans. Fantastic. Let's sell Jesus to Christians too and ice to Eskimos.

Tweeting it to a bunch of UConn fans is preaching to the choir.

And you have specific contacts in the ACC/B1G that have told you that UConn hasn't spoken to them?

It seems absurdly disingenuous to attack the administration for not doing outreach, and then criticizing the administration for "preaching to the choir."

You've set it up so that you can't be proven wrong, because you are taking a lack of evidence against your position as evidence for your position.

I haven't set anything up. Their record of failures speaks for it self. The public relations arm of this school is really a stump. And has stood back content to let B List sports writers and hacks define it.

Maybe you just need to get over yourself and realize that a decent college basketball TV market just isn't worth that much compared to football.
