Cam might be my favorite UConn guy ever. It's crazy the impact he had on the team, program, and fans in his one season with the Huskies.
It was fun watching UConn games with fans of other teams. Early in the season they were saying, "Who is this guy? He's actually pretty damn good." By the end of the season they were saying, "Cam is the best guard in college basketball."
Well played. Why wait? Can't wait for the BY2030 thread on who was a bigger one hit wonder at UConn, Dove or Cam.
From York Rd in Baltimore playing for one of the worst programs in the country to getting this contractThis is awesome.
Making 4.5 million to play basketball probably seemed incredibly unlikely 6 years ago.

More simply put: They don't.Simply put: I believe that they do not win the Chip without him
Very well doneRutgers gonna have a real tough time keeping up with all the $$$ their players have made in the NBA...
Wait it just hit meFrom Loyola Maryland to multi-year guaranteed NBA deal. LETS GOOOO
Not sure, but the impressive total salary of Rutgers-coached players continues to riseWait it just hit me
Is he now the highest-earning basketball player to ever play for the Grayhounds? Has any athlete for Loyola ever made 5million through professional sports?
Seriously. Talk about a butterfly effect, Ashton.Soooooo glad Timberlake picked Self's bigger bag.
Somebody needs to set up a poll.Well played. Why wait?
Santi Aldama has made $10M so far in his career and just signed a $52M contract this offseasonWait it just hit me

Wow. Did not know they were teammates there, for 2 years as well. Very cool that they ended up on the same NBA team.Santi Aldama has made $10M so far in his career and just signed a $52M contract this offseason
It’s tough one for sure. The Dove didn’t get the title and lost on a lucky shot byI love Dove but Cam may have over taken him as the greatest one year player ever at UConn. It’s close but the chip has to be considered.
They both made everyone else better.
Both had very good supporting casts as team members, but Dove did not play with the upcoming nba ROY.
I don’t know man, the Dream season team started everything the snowball kept getting bigger after that season.
I am now convincing myself Dove gets the nod because he may have been the piece that started our rise to best CBB program of tge last 30 years.
Maybe it us a tie.
Post/HandleIt’s tough one for sure. The Dove didn’t get the title and lost on a lucky shot bycollegebasketball’s most hated player of all-time but on the other hand, didn’t have the same supporting cast as Cam, who does have the title.
If you ask Jim Calhoun, he will tell you Chris Smith is the most important recruit he ever landed. Before him, top level Connecticut players were going to Villanova, St. John's, and other schools.I love Dove but Cam may have over taken him as the greatest one year player ever at UConn. Not only that but they roomed together their sophomore season.Wow. Did not know they were teammates there, for 2 years as well. Very cool that they ended up on the same NBA team.
This joke has been beaten to death lol. This is a slightly different situation, as Cam did play for Rutgers (unlike the other "Rutgers-coached" players who went to UConn).Rutgers will take credit for this!!
This was a one and done comparison. I agree that Smith opened the door for local talent. Before him we lost most of the in state or New England talent to other schools. If you ask Jim Calhoun, he will tell you Chris Smith is the most important recruit he ever landed. I never knew anyone nationally took them to task! That was good. This joke has been beaten to death lol. This is a slightly different situation, as Cam did play for Rutgers (unlike the other "Rutgers-coached" players who went to UConn).
Yeah he loved it so much that he jumped ship immediately. This joke has been beaten to death lol. This is a slightly different situation, as Cam did play for Rutgers (unlike the other "Rutgers-coached" players who went to UConn).
Cam didn't enter his name in the transfer portal until we lured him into it late with $$. And he spent as many seasons at Rutgers as he did at UConn.Yeah he loved it so much that he jumped ship immediately.
The marketing reeks of when the big bank I USED to work for as a low level portfolio associate promoted our 200bps benchmark outperformance in International portfolios in 2008. People were ecstatic until they realized the EAFE was -43% vs us only being -41%.
I'm not a Rutgers hater. I actually root for them a bit because I'm a Jersey guy.Cam didn't enter his name in the transfer portal until we lured him into it late with $$. And he spent as many seasons at Rutgers as he did at UConn.
