Just looked at what was called the "greatest 100 sports photos". They must not have included the greatest sports photo of all time!

Bobby Orr #1. Ali over Liston probably #2. Lots of options. Team USA Hockey Gold probably has some good choices.

No question it's either a terminally Ill Babe Ruth at Yankee Stadium leaning on the bat while being honored or Lou Gereg at his "Luckiest Man" speech.

I went looking for Marciano's KO of Wolcott which I think gets in the conversation...

and I found this shot of him hitting Lee Savold:

What I love about these is you can see the moment of impact, especially on the Wolcott picture, and the cumulative damage, especially on the Savold picture. The best part of both is how business-like Marciano looks in both pictures. Just another day in the office....

Let me add a personal favorite:

I was at that game. It was my younger son's first Red Sox game. He was almost 3 years old at the time and he started crying because everyone started going crazy and it freaked him out. We still laugh about that. I saved one of the tickets and he has it on his wall next to the 2004 World Series Champions pennant.
