Jake Weingarten reports we've reached out to Carlik Jones out of Radford.

The 6'1 180 lead guard averaged 20 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 40.9% 3P in 33 mpg as a junior.

Some season highlights against better opponents:

* 15 points, 3 boards, 7 assists against Mississippi State
* 14 points, 6 boards, 11 assists against Richmond
* 31 points, 6 boards against Liberty (scored half of Radford's points)
* 20 points, 4 boards, 7 assists against Northwestern
* 29 points, 8 boards against UNC-Greensboro

Doesn’t necessarily fit that big guard mold Hurley seems to be looking for, but he seems to be focused on adding talent/certain intangibles. The staff definitely seems to be casting a wide net. What’s clear is that with all these transfers hitting the portal, the staff will definitely be able to add an impact player (or two).

Stats make him sound a lot like Bazz as a senior.
No telling about heart though.

I know we need talent however we can get it, but I don’t think this makes sense for either party. Without knowing much about him, he seems somewhat similar to R.J. Cole. I’d imagine he would want to go to a place where he can start from day one. Still, I’m all for casting a wide net.

There's a chance he could start here, more than likely would with his game. If Cole and he are similar that's even better because then both guards can score and pass.
