2023 Recruiting: (Grad Transfer) Nick Timberlake

“Playing in the CAA, I would like to take a step up,” Timberlake said. “Whether it be a power five school or a high-level team, I want to go somewhere where I feel comfortable. I am open to all options but my main goal is to play at the highest level. That stuff plays a big role. I am looking to be an impactful player on a winning team. I want to compete in March Madness and get my feet wet in the tournament. It would be a great thing to accomplish.”

6'4", 6 rebounds per game too.

Sorry, misread the ESPN page, 6 rebounds in his last game against Charleston, averages 4.

Posted this in the other thread, but here are his stats

11 3 attempts per 100 positions would put him just after Hawkins for us in volume.

Doesn't get to the rim often, but finishes when he does.

Steel and block rates aren't amazing, but are better than a lot of mid major shooter types.

Assist and turnover rates indicate he could be a tertiary creator maybe, but definitely not lead ballhandler.

From what little we know he could fill a role similar to the Hawk perhaps.

I was thinking more Joey C. Do you think he starts for UConn? We might have a lot of turnover so there could be a starting spot open, but I don't think a player from Towson is coming to UConn and starting.

Anything on how he is defensively? More Joey C, or Hawkins, or Alleyne?

Alleyne-sized with decent hops. But he's not as quick as Joey and has to really load up to max jump. 5th year savvy. He'll still probably be one of the worst defenders on the team (but the team should be strong defensively next year).

Oh, and by the way, Timberlake's best pal and sidekick on that team coached by Satan was none other than Kyrie Irving's father.

Here’s what I wrote from another thread.

The 6'4 205 grad transfer from Braintree, MA averaged 17.7p, 3.9r, 2.4a, 2.8 3PM at 41.6 3p% and 3.5 FTA at 84.5 ft%

Was the alpha guard at Towson offensively, but his defensive metrics look below average.

High-major prospect, for sure.

Already has played 5 years at Towson, but only 9 games his freshman year. Must’ve been granted a RS that season.

I watched him play the other night and HD jumped off the screen. Sometimes literally. He was the best player on the floor and everyone knew it

Went to school with his dad at Boston U., he was starting PG under Satan. Also, this kid is much much taller than his dad.

Wow, I legitimately haven't thought of Jarvis in 15 years and probably would have gone the rest of my life without remembering his existence if not for your post.

Keep him away from Xavier but if he likes BBQ watch out for Pearl.
