Why did we never really go after Shakur Juiston? Stud grad transfer, from Newark, does exactly what we need.

You get a lot of leeway to get a hoop recruit into school here. You get a whole lot less when it comes to grad school.

Plus, this is the last school in the world that should take a kid coming off knee surgery.

Committed to Oregon. Mom’s happy, and I don’t see how anyone else would feel differently if they were her.

As one of the best grad transfers out there, he did what many of them do: find themselves in a position that helps bolster their pro credentials.

Oregon was in dire need of bodies after eight of their top eleven players either graduated (White, Amin), left for the NBA (King, Wooten, Bol) or transferred (Bailey, Norris, Kigab). Their only returning frontcourt player, Francis Okoro, is a sophomore and averaged 13.6 mpg last season, so Juiston will step right into a starting position either at the 4 or 5, allowing their three talented freshmen frontcourt players (Walker, Johnson, Lawson) to battle for more playing time and develop at their own pace.

Juiston would be an awkward fit for UConn. He's a 30 mpg player who will get the same minutes in Oregon. Where would he get 30 mpg for UConn? He wouldn't take Carlton's spot and having Juiston play 20-30 mpg would affect the development of Akok and others.

CV shouldn't be leading our team in Rebounding.. not even top 3.. he should be the 4th best rebounder at best... One guy I'm praying can finally keep the fouls down and stay on the court a little longer (because a lot of good things happen when he's on the court) is Isaiah Whaley. He brought energy to our team. IF he can finally figure it out and not foul too much too soon... We need him to develop and shock some folks, helping us getting some big wins, these last 2 years..

Bazz and DD averaged almost the same number of rebounds be game to lead the team in 2012-13 and 2013-14
With so many threes long rebounds are increased and that usually means your guards get a lot more rebounds

Good guards learn to read the 3s and rebound around the FT line. Statistically that's where 3s go more than anywhere. Bazz still is a master of getting under/ardound bigs and finding the loose ball.

Who needs a rebounder?? We have CV who is a sniper
So our plan is "don't miss?" ;)

FWIW I think our rebounding will be much improved with an older Carlton, Akok, and a super sized Whaley. That's not even counting CV who has a nose for ball.
