When I was at the game last night I saw a young guy who was pretty tall and athletic looking and he was not wearing either UCONN gear or clown pants, he was sitting close to my section and when he walked by I thought he could be Prince Ali, I didn't say anything just b/c I wasn't sure. Then during halftime I saw him again and I had just watched his highlight video the day before and I was pretty convinced it was him. I did a quick google image search and then Husky Dynasty and I went up to him, and lo and behold it was the Prince himself.
He seemed like a good guy. Didn't want bother him so I just told him that he would make a great fit at UCONN and I thought his game was sick from his highlight videos and if he wanted to play in the NBA there is no better school than UCONN to get you there.
I asked him if he had any favorites, but he said they are all equal at this point. I didn't want to press the issue b/c I'm sure he is asked that all the time. I also asked him what he thought about UCONN fans and he said he thought we were cool. Got a picture with him and then thanked him.
I am sure none of what I said helped convince him to choose UCONN but the fact that I knew who he was as a UCONN fan, and there was also another uconn fan speaking with before I got a chance to, I think it should leave a good impression on him that UCONN fans care about basketball. Never hurts to show recruits some husky love.
