Really enjoyable article. Loved reading about Geno's sendoff. That was class. Also, glad she's playing for a team called the Patriots. It's great that she will be able to show off her talents more.

Informative article in that Pat of Nat's decision to leave UCONN was due to UCONN dropping the International Business Masters program after she enrolled at UCONN.

Why is UConn doing things like that? I'd expect them to be doing the opposite.

It is a bit counter to the current trend. But masters degrees are very expensive to individual students and highly competitive among universities. Masters programs always have to pay for themselves, and maybe UConn just couldn't make it sufficiently profitable.

Impressive that Natalie has 10 years of German and that her interests are so precise. Also, a very complimentary article about how Geno & Co handled it.

I really like Nat. In a perfect world Nat will tear up the A-10 with GMU winning the league championship. Then GMU would face UConn in the early rounds of the Big Dance.

No, GMU wouldn't win or even stay close to the Huskies, but during pregame introductions, the UConn home crowd will give Nat a thunderous standing ovation.

Keep away from recruits the quote

“I don’t mind not seeing the heavy snowfall,” Butler admitted. “It was crazy in Connecticut. That was a shocker for me; it was like living in Antarctica. They have these wind tunnels that go through the campus up in Connecticut, so it was definitely an adjustment.”

George Mason will have to go through St. Louis before winning the A-10 league championship. That may be a little tough, oldude.

From Milford, CT? Wow, that must be a fast car!
Ken/3rdbass lives in DC. But I believe he grew up or lived in Milford for a long time, hence the name! :)

I'm excited for Nat and look forward to seeing how she does there. Rooting for her big time. And I'm proud of the way Geno handled the transfer, but that should be really no surprise - it's pretty much how he handles most transfers, few and far between they may be...

I guess it's not a perfect world, although it does baffle me how St Louis plays in the ATLANTIC 10?

Conference realignment has made for some bizarre combinations of teams for sure. Notre Dame and Louisville in the Atlantic Coast Conference for example. And I see Hoopsfan was typing at the same time I was.

That's nothing. Fans of the men's team was hoping the Billikens would get an invite to join the Big East. But that was before they had three consecutive terrible seasons. This season the women and men should be really good again. Like Uconn, the men have some very good transfers eligible to play this season.

Same way a school from Indiana or Kentucky can play in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Yes, I guess geography has very little to do with conference alignments these days.

Probably on the wrong board (athletic vs. academic ) to get a good answer but I think @bags27 might be on to something. I'm also not aware of any other major dropped by UCONN recently either, so when you say "doing things like that" I can't relate.

Well Dayton won the conference last year if that makes you feel better-geographically speaking.

Or Missouri in the SEC.

As for St. Louis, it's on the Mississippi which connects to the Gulf which connects to the Atlantic. Only like 3 degrees of separation. Kevin would be proud. :D:rolleyes:

Business is business even if that business is Education. I too am impressed with the 10 years of German. My Dept of St Daughter, a Uconn Grad, speaks, reads, writes, 5 languages including Russian
People like Natalie are in great demand for things other than BB.

So happy for Nat. Seems to be a great young lady with lots of heart. I think she gave the program everything she had to give.
You are right she gave ALL she had to GIVE. She'll be happy in a less pressure league/team.
She showed moments of real talent.
