I don't think she's anywhere near as good as Jewel Lloyd was. Jewel Lloyd was a lot more efficient on the offensive end and much more team oriented. I also think Jewel was a better defensive player than is DD. I have seen or heard nothing to suggest that DD would have been able to play in a structured setting like either UConn or Notre Dame though I've heard that she's finally started to move A BIT in that direction.

I think my opinion was based on my observations of her last year (when my interest in ND was at its highest for obvious reasons) when her efficiency numbers were not very good. Her points went up but shooting averages were down significantly. Her assists / TO were also closer to DD then you would like.

Surprising to me is that DD's numbers are much better this season than last season

I do agree that the intensity and defensive consistency of Jewell was much better and I think here, DD has regressed (see Steals)
