Moved up 4 spots to 34 in KenPom. Also Baylor and Texas won, and are #26 and #29 in KenPom currently. Gonzaga is 10th.

So currently, UConn has 4 top 30 KenPom wins. 3 out of the 4 are road/neutral. Big chances upcoming with St. John's (#17) and Creighton (#33).

Will update NET in the morning.

Vibes are strong for an 8-seed? Without considering the obvious floor, what’s our ceiling?

Frothily keeps the top 25 streak going. I’d say it likely catapults us away from the 8/9 line where just about everyone has us and likely on the 7. There is no good reason to want Auburn or Duke any earlier than we have to. That is going to be a really, really good win for the resume.

Technically our ceiling is winning out. If we did that I’d say it’s a 2 seed. We’d be 28-6, win BE reg and tournament.

Realistically, let’s call it losing at StJ, at Creighton and one more (at PC?), getting to BE finals, 24-10, I’d say around a 6.

Id sign up for a 6 seed. Avoid playing 1-8 early. Allow McNeeley to integrate himself.

To get to Providence, I'm thinking they have to be no worse than a 4 seed.

@ St. John's is favorably at MSG or our Storrs South. A lot on the line if we win at home (Gampel) this Friday with Liam - then they come for revenge in the "away" game. I am a believer we will win both. I think we get 23-25 wins total before the dance. That should be good enough for a 4-6 depending on BE Tourney results.

Even if metrics have us at the 8/9 line the committee can’t do that to the 1-seed.

Yeah I think the 4 guarantees us Prov. My guess is we’d have to finish with no more than 8 losses to get there.

It starts Friday. StJ is likely to jump into the top ten for that game, which becomes another opportunity. Gampel is going to be on fire after the Marquette win, Liam back and playing a top ten StJ/Pitino.

Who do we want to win the Marquette & StJ game Tuesday? On one hand a StJ win may give them some hangover for our game. Marquette winning balances out the conference standings.

Yes!!! The only problem today is no NFL and the only BE game to watch is Depaul/Hall.
I think a repeat of last night's game is the plan.

First Sunday with no NFL -going through football withdraw but today is still a good day after last night—— huuuuuuggggeee win. I guess this is what Sunday’s feel like for people who don’t watch football. Weird. Lol

UConn will be the most difficult team to seed. My guess is we get seeded higher than the metrics suggest.
I can see getting an extra line out of respect and because of Liam’s injury.

There’s no way they punish Auburn or Duke by putting us in there bracket.

Great win last night, but I’m not sure that beating a top 10 team on the road and going up only four spots in KenPom is a commensurate reward. But the ESPN number is a plus.

I’d prefer a 6 to a 5 so we avoid a 1 seed until the elite 8. I might even prefer a 6 to a 4 this year. I dont think its worth playing in providence for the first two rounds if it means we have to play Duke in Jersey in the sweet 16

Is it possible to get a 4 or 5 seed in providence but not be in the East? That would be best case scenario

Sure, but the less likely they put a higher seed in an opponent home game atmosphere in round two. Providence is an hour away, not materially different than if it was in Hartford. Hard to penalize the 4 seed.

We have never beaten the Creighton Barrels in Resume Speed, Nebraska ( or wherever).

Ne-Ver!

They are playing their 2 toughest games in a row the second one with us only 2 days later. That could take it out of them a bit. I don’t care about the standings at this point, just want to beat them because besides the loss it’s a psychological dagger to them going forward.

I cannot root for Pitino so Marquette. But is more than Pitino, St Johns only has one league loss. So if they have two coming into the game that puts the top four BE teams with either 2 or 3 loses. So it is anybody’s regular season to win of those four. We almost have to concede the Creighton road game we just never win there, maybe this year we return the favor since they snapped our 28 game home win streak. I think we are going to have to beat them to have a chance to win the BE regular season title.

Creighton may legitimately be in the drivers seat to win it, easiest of the 4 schedules left.

We have 9 conference games left

St Johns2)
Creighton(1)
Marquette(1)
Nova(1)
SH(2)
Gtown(1)
PC(1)

We need to go 5-0 against pc,GTown, sh, nova

And 2-2 against St John’s, Marquette, Creighton. Pretty much win the home games.

That’d make us 23-8(15-5)

Probably not enough to win the conference. We’d need to run the table

Yes agreed. That “trap” game at Providence on Wednesday will be interesting to keep an eye on. It is just before they start the gauntlet of three in a row against Marquette and us at home and then @ St Johns that will be their season. The rest of their games should be wins.

But you just never know when you start counting on wins or losses this early it is always tricky.

There is not much separating the top four in the BE but I do think fully healthy we are the best team. With Liam more than likely we are also a one loss team and in the drivers seat. It is what’s going to make the last 9 games so much fun.

Torn - I think StJ is the better team, so given they are in first, leaning Marquette.

I do agree if we want any chance at BE reg season title, it’s likely gonna mean no more than 1 more loss. 16-4 is probably what takes it.
