Very enjoyable article. another line i really liked...

It starts with the first-year coach, half-gnarled NBA survivor, half preacher man, all Husky.

This one was pretty good too... He was talking about the BE decision to NOT let UCONN play in the BET...

It's funny. The Big East presidents seem so nobly intent on pleasing the NCAA with some rules like academics. Yet at the first drop of money, they'll so ignobly flee for another conference. It is irony at best, hypocrisy at worst. And with the NCAA looking so bad in the Miami scandal, you really have to wonder if you want to use the NCAA as your absolute moral compass.

Great article with lots of good points....a few that stuck to me were:

"It's funny.

UConn has not only two academic semesters with a fine APR, after December it now has three. The Big East wouldn't be looking at tons of schools or tons of sports. It would be looking at one school, one sport. They are in position to be flexible and do the right thing. And they are in position to reward a team that not only is staying in the conference, but has demonstrated for nearly two years that it has righted its academic ship.
It's too bad all those schools that are fleeing the conference sit in judgment of UConn. At this point, the only schools that should count are Cincinnati, South Florida and the schools that are coming in to be part of the Big East's future.
It's a shame this team, no rebounding, all heart and plenty of academic cred, can't go to New York. A real shame."
This one stuck out the most to me because I felt it was the most accurate:
This was the game last year when you felt, wow, the Huskies with Andre Drummond, Jeremy Lamb, Alex Oriakhi, Roscoe Smith, don't really deserve to play in the postseason. They would right the ship enough to get one game in the NCAA Tournament, but it was a tough team to love. Well, this year's team is impossible not to love.
I had a hard team liking last year's team but the heart this team plays with is unreal. Similar to the NC team with Kemba. It's a shame that the BE won't let us play.....screw them all.

I'm pretty sure we've had a solid APR for the past 5 semesters, not 3. The 2011, 2012, and this year's team (so far) haven't had any issues.

JJ did a lot of damage on the national scene portraying JC negatively. He's correct about the NCAA and the universities in the BE acting holier than thou, but he needs to look in the mirror and see his hypocritical blemishes.

Win out and win the Big East regular season, then throw a huge pep rally to celebrate The Championship, complete with a giant banner hoisting in Gampel.

Only 2 games out of first!

Can we vote to exclude Syracuse because they've had like 9 academic suspensions the last two years?
