Listening to the Vegas Stats & Info station on SiriusXM (Brent Musberger’s station) and they seem to think this is basically a done deal.

First I’ve heard of this? Has anyone else heard anything?

This has been floating around in the news for a couple weeks. Looks like the WCC is trying to make a last ditch effort to keep them in the conference.

It actually puts BYU in a terrible position if it does happen:

I hear that BYU and Gonzaga is going to be a package deal.
 
Poor St. Marys....or maybe not, probably means they lock up the automatic for the foreseeable future. Instead of getting shafted.

I say we add Gonzaga, Nevada and San Diego St as a Western division of the American.
 
There have been several reports for a few weeks that both Gonzaga and BYU might join the Mountain West.

I think it's going to happen

Yeah, from what I heard on the radio, they said it’d be more likely for the following year because of the schedules of all of the other sports that have already been set.

Have we ever considered adding western schools to the American? I'm thinking Boise St. and San Diego St. would be nice targets.
 
We can add a few schools from Canada and Mexico, then call ourselves the North American collegiate Conference. NACC, that will pi$$ off a few people.

If I were Mountain West I’d tell BYU to go pound sand. Laugh at them as they dump football games to UMass.

Why put up with the scheduling nonsense? Or playing a football team full of 26 year old fathers of three?
 
lets add hawaii from the good ol big west so our boys get a nice 1-2 day vacation when they hit the road for a game there.
 
I see a P-8 or P10
You need a minimum of 100 schools to have a legimate Tourney
Even going to 48 teams
Basketball breakaway very possible but a P5 is not doable.
The MWC is making sure their included .

The travel will be horrendous. Seems the past couple of years are kids traveled their butts off. Maybe the way they had it scheduled. Seemed always on a plane going somewhere.
 
They tried adding those 2 and a couple others, maybe BYU...they backed out at the last minute.
 
Gonzaga athletic director Mike Roth says Zags staying in WCC
