There are a few desirable jobs that are going to be opening in the next year or 2. 9 or 10 by my count.

Very sad to see Spaz there. Southern Miss coach already on the hot seat?

Let's hope P moves to the front of the line.

It isn't going to happen, but we are probably close to setting a record. Has any school had their previous three head coaches all fired in one year (Holtz, Edsall, PP)? That would be impressive!

What would people think of Jeff Tedford as our next coach? He was never really that successful but he can develop QBs knows how to sling the ball. At least if we're losing we'll be losing in a more exciting fashion. More exciting than raking leaves.

I would take a sniff at Paul Johnson if he was cut loose. Watch us hire TOB.

Paul Johnson is a great coach at a school that doesn't have much talent or players with NFL aspirations. He runs a gimmick offense that can pick off a better team once in awhile, but his teams have a ceiling.

I actually would rather have TOB than Johnson. We can do better.

TOB lost out to Skip as the replacement for Tom Jackson. My former brother-in-law was on the football/MBB beat for a CT paper at the time and had a very good relationship with then AD Lew Perkins. Perkins told him that TOB was an excellent coach and would have done a GREAT job at UConn BUT he needed the Holtz name to help push his 1A upgrade.

I'll take a pass on both.

If Uconn fires PP after this season, they will have very little margin of error on the next coach. Whoever that next coach is will be here for awhile.

Don't see anyone but a proven entity.

I think TOB is done in NCST, getting close to retirement.

At NCST, they are finally learning what we told them when they "stole" him from us, he will churn out 7/8 win seasons once he gets his players but will never get you where you want to go.

Leadership of BC stood around while a bafoon pushed a solid coach out the door, hired a guy who looked pretty good but then pushed him out because he "wasn't a BC Guy", then hired either Moe, Larry or Curley. They also watched while a similar process transpired with the hoops programs.

BC's problems go well beyond the athletic department.

So we wait until end of year 3 and go 5-7; 3-9; 5-7 and that gives us more margin of error?

I would take Johnson's ceiling, which isn't governed by incompetence, over most of the stiffs out there.

I like Dooley, he just needs a Defense at Tennessee, him combined with Don Brown could be interesting....Dooley at least shows some emotion.

big names, could bring excitement to our program
There needs to be a "Dislike" button. This (and the last) post proves it.

These guys couldnt win with programs that get the best talent in the country, and they each took over winning teams, and went the other way.

One thing I really, really like about Don Brown is that his defenses always come to play and they have consistently been put in tough spots and always seem to respond.

My sense is that he is a leader and motivator, and that can go a long way in college football.

That said, I'm sure he's not smart enough to figure out whatever the hell is going on with our offense, but I view that as a positive as well.
