Odell was washed at 28 years old. He gave the Browns one solid season after the trade and did catch a TD in the Super Bowl for the Rams but he was basically washed after he got traded from the Giants.

I'm also a Giants fan and can't stand the organization but that trade worked out for them. They no longer had to deal with the Odell headache/distraction and they got Dexter. If Odell was anything like his first three seasons in the NFL post trade it would be another reason to rip the Giants.

I just don't see how he's like Skattebo.

Washed because of injuries, I don’t dock players because of that. Also I don’t dock players who wear their emotions and intensity on their sleeves. Especially for an organization like the Giants that has been so robotic and seemingly somewhat content with medocrity. Dexter is great and I love him, but its not like we have turned the corner as a franchise in his time here.

I didn’t say Odell and Skatt were the same, I was referring to them both as emotional intense players. I like it from both. Some people get criticism, some don’t. I think if Odell went into the blue tent to check up on someone it wouldn’t have been as well received in the media as when Skatt did it, but that’s neither here nor there.

Yeah, all i said was he was washed and the Giants got Dex so it worked out.

You brought Skattebo into it. Of course there's some fans who loved Odell and love Skattebo and some who hate Odell and Skattebo. The Giants got to the point where they "hated" Odell because of all the fines, penalties, the suspension etc. Skattebo doesn't have any of that and from everything I've read the Giants "love" him.

Skattebo followed his coach's lead peaking his head in the tent. I highly doubt the media would freak out on Beckham for doing that.
 
Today is the NBA’s golden age? Is he drinking or smoking or just trying to get clicks from people? I can’t even entertain this with words. Obviously, 80s thru the 90s and possibly up thru Kobe and early LeBron was the best time. Post covid nba has been tuff to watch. That’s why I love how my sports seasons go. Ill watch a little bit of regular season NBA and then as soon as March madness ends, I’ll lock in for the playoffs. Right now it’s NFL college hoops, and college football on my plate. What else would it be ?

Well Skatt got fined but that’s neither here nor there.

I brought him up because they are emotional players, that’s all. No need to dig further.

Yep and Lawrence has been double teamed for than any player in the NFL this season.
 
It is the golden age of fantasy sports.

In any other age, Tony Romo would be a huge disappointment. He lost every big game he played in. He couldn't even hold for a game winning field goal. In today's "fantasy" environment, he is consider one of the greats because he produced big fantasy points.

This true in every sport. Your fantasy numbers are more important that your impact on winning and losing. So no. This is not the golden age of sports.

A lot of Lawrence's struggles point to Shane Bowen too. He's being completely misused

It's ESPN so it's all about eyeballs.

I liked the NBA of the 80s/90s with a lot of very competitive teams, a lot of tough defense, and a bevy of amazing players.

NCAA men's? The last 30 years has been great wink, wink
NAAA women's? Same

Golf - Tiger years but some remember Nichlaus, Palmer, Player, etc.

MLB - 1998 before they proved it was juicing but in general the 80s had some epic players.

NFL - Lions fan so now is it.

NHL - Probably mid-Gretzky years to when he retired. Not just for him, but a lot of great teams and players.

MLS - still not there on the men's side, but opening it up to FIFA good toss up between Messa/Ronaldo plus a dozen or so A- players and the Pele years.

Used to be espn 11pm sports center was must see tv for the nightly highlights , now it’s all fluff talking heads and human interest stories so crazy how it’s changed. ESPN has fallen off so hard. So corny now. Sad.

The reason SportsCenter was so cool was to see all the highlights. Now every highlight is available at your fingertips on 100 different social media platforms within seconds. There's no value in a highlight show anymore

I like human interest stories but it seems like any time I've tuned into ESPN in recent years it's dumb people with terrible takes arguing with each other. It's like a much dumber Crossfire from back in the day with much dumber people.
