Opinion - Girls is somehow worse than Treme.

Discuss.

The "I am smarter than everyone in the world" tone of the show was amusing for about 4 episodes, then I couldn't take it anymore. All the main characters are intensely unlikable.

I would put this show on a party boat and launch a cruise missile at it. It just has no value whatsoever.

I like them both. Every character is unlikable in girls but it is still interesting.

The need to continually parade Lena Dunhams flapjack breasts and giant belly around with no clothes on really makes my stomach turn.

.-.
I though there would be pictures of girls in bikinis in this thread, Fishy you're such a tease.

I suspect that I am part of the target audience, and I still hate the show.

Lena Dunham is a pretty talented writer, and I suspect she doesn't mind at all that her show is polarizing, or that her nudity is upsetting to many. (I thought her "nude" skit on SNL about Eve and the apple was hilarious). It's actually interesting that the show's demographics do not skew young or female. Despite the characters being incredibly self-centered and mostly unlikable, Girls is a hoot to watch. I thought the episode where Hannah's grandmother passed was especially well-done. Judd Apatow, whose product I'm guessing many of Girls' detractors like, is very involved as her mentor.

I watched a couple of episodes it's seemed like sex and the city meets Seinfeld except the amalgamation has the worst parts of both. I guess that could still make for a better show than most though :/.
