Not surprised when Gilbert didn’t play against Temple. We definitely need another guard for next year as we unfortunately can’t count on Gilbert with his history.
You will be criticized for saying that, but you are correct.

I thought there was no injury, it's gone from AG was just a little sore and "scared" to now it's maybe not a bad injury .....................maybe the hospital UConn uses needs a better MRI thig-a ma-jig.

I'm guessing his shoulder got sore/ tight/ bruised and AG is being very cautious given the history. They want him 100% fully recovered before playing him again. And given the prospects for this year absolutely no reason to run him out there with nothing to play for at this juncture

As Chief predicted, when it comes to shoulders at UConn, the guidance is almost always wrong.

That also applies to stress fractures of the foot, witness the Jake Voskuhl fiasco. UCONN doctors held him out. His dad told him to come home and see his own doctor. He played the rest of that season, pretty well IIRC, culminating in our first natty.

Based upon what I heard I'm very surprised by this. Nothing positive to see here.

This is too bad for AG but the whole injury thing is ridiculous
How does it go from a few days of rest to we are going to be a bit cautious to not as bad as we thought?
The injury bug has to be killed
Injuries happen but UConn has been treated unfairly by this jinx

it didnt change. they just werent being honest. probably an attempt to keep the opponents guessing

Thanks for reminding me.

If we miss on precious, I think a grad transfer guard may be needed. Even though they will be extremely thin up front. It may be a pick your poison type deal.

“I don’t think it’s a bad injury” is not a medical diagnosis.

Can the UConn medical staff please inform us as to what medical tests were run and what exactly do they reveal the injury to be? Tired of hearing that the UConn medical staff has conclusively determined that AGh has a really really sometimes maybe bad boo-boo and that bad boo-boo may or may not heal for 1 to 76 weeks.

What Is The Injury? Simple question.
I have wondered why HIPPA rules don’t apply to sports injuries. In the workforce managers are trained to not discuss employee injuries in detail with other employees yet in athletics injuries are discussed in detail.

The injuries nightmare has officially entered it's 30th month, they started in August of 2016

And I'm somewhat beyond tired of this scene

Wow. Gilbert out again. It goes from he was day to day 2-3 weeks ago to shoulder worse than we thought. If he didn’t play vs temple and now Memphis , he’s definitely not going to play vs Houston with how physical they are. I say he comes back after the off week after Houston game. If not by then(which wud be feb 21. Then might as well shut him down fir year. Not good. We ve had such bad luck past few years.

+7.5. Is there any chance we keep this close? I really don’t see where scoring is going to come from. I love CV but not as the main scoring threat.

You forget Ricky Moore, UCONN shoulder doctors did all right by him. They also saved my shoulder after 5 other Orthopaedic specialists misdiagnosed it.

I'm not so sure @superjohn was talking about Alterique being "scared" I was thinking he was scared at it being worst that they are relaying. I could have read it wrong though and hope you are right!

I took Memphis very large last night. No way they keep this within double digits. Ball pressure and playing fast is going to expose the limited ball handlers today

This crushes any hope we had of winning this game. But some young guys will gain experience and Vital will against gain some PG playing time. Given what we have coming in next year, I like the idea of turning CV into a combo guard. I never would have imagined it, but his handle and passing are much improved. He’s better than Smith as a distributor.

Sid and B Adams will get plenty of time today.

Not that this means he’s playing, but he’s wearing a different shirt than everyone else, which is what Adams usually does. Changing of the guard?
