Since this is now a Roscoe thread...I think he's just really struggling with his confidence right now. He doesn't make quick decisions like he did last year, he looks out of position on defense pretty frequently and he just doesn't seem to have great energy. I think he'll get it back at some point. He's only a sophomore and the season is still young.
As for his NBA future, I think he still has a very good chance. The NBA small forward spot is much less a skill position than it is about having a unique combination of good length, solid rebounding, good defense and a consistent shot from 3. I think Roscoe has all the requisite tools to put himself in the league, he just has to make sure he's money on open 3s (which he was pretty good at last year) and bring back the intensity that he had last year. That and some steady improvement over the next few years and he's there IMO.

I love Roscoe but there's nothing at all in his game that is close to NBA level. He is a great kid and a hard worker but he. like Stanley (and he's not as good now) has no handle, cannot go one-on-one , no mid-range game at all and his range has seemingly diminished with his confidence. He needs to work on these during the summer, constantly no time off, to ever sniff the NBA level. Should have come back this year much better in those categories!!!

Absolutely right Giffey should be playing more if not starting for this team. He is just as good as Daniels offensively and is a better driver. He is also a much better defender. Roscoe has regressed alot offensively and his defense and passion is not what is last year when he was a beast defensively.

Giffey is our best option at the 3 spot this year. He has gotten really good and is a positive force on the team. I am sure Calhoun took note of this as did we. I also think Giffey will help us with zone defenses because he has good athleticism, can drive to the basket and can hit the open shot something Roscoe and Daniels have been unable to do.

Boatright and Napier have to take much of the blame for last night as they did not play well yesterday turning the ball over and getting manhandled by Theodore. Their confidence took a hit last night. They better hit the weight room big time and get better on defense.

Actually I think lamb is our best option at the 3 spot, but seeing as boat has hit the freshman wall over the last few games he has been as big ( or bigger) liability than Roscoe and DD. If boat was on his game we would see a ton more of the 2 headed point that we saw last year with kemba and bazz.

I think Roscoe has a shot at the league. He has lots of time to develop. Right now, he looks like a Robert Horry type in the making- sort of a 3-4 with limited ballhandling skills. He is great on d but he needs to get his jumper to come around and go from there. He has the tools to defend in the NBA which is hard to find. The ability to score more steadily is critical for him. I think he'll get there.

From all of the TOs I remember from Giffey last year...I recall quite a few which were probably not his fault. I remember him having some great passes and the person he was passing to messed up the play. Giffey's just got to get PT to have better control of that so he can develop chemistry with the team.

Knowing your limitations...ala Giffey, is a very good thing....and Giffey is a very good passer, so accentuate what you are good at rather than demonstrate your weaker skill...

It would be great last night if RS didn't think he had to prove something be forcing several missed short shots inside. RS needs to think along the lines of becoming Dennis Rodman (not the person, the basketball player)...never force things on offense (don't throw away cross court passes, don't try to run over the opponent on the fastbreak, don't dribble into traffic)...DO hustle all the time for loose balls, snag every rebound, box out like a madman and play really tough D.
