" It’s about going to get the basketball. It’s about every time a shot goes up, you thinking it’s a pass to you"

He does lead in offensive rebounds (11) along with TO and OC playing fewer minutes. NG also has very good effort on D. Would like to see more minutes and shots. Kid needs to get more comfortable/confident on offense too

When they asked Moses Malone what his strategy and technique were for being such a great offensive rebounder his response was detailed and prolific.

"I goes to the rack" said Moses.

All about effort.

It's certainly not all about effort but that's a key ingredient. First thing is always positioning while the play is developing, mainly on the defensive end. You have to have a feel for when a guy is going to shoot it and at times maybe get a read for where the carom will go........then it's all about wanting the ball and effort with the boxout and attack the ball.........

Give Niels credit, came in skinny and although he's not huge he is cut and much stronger enabling him to battle for rebounds with people larger than he.........he's done a nice job here!!

So how much effort was involved in his zero board performance the other night?

The other 40% breaks down as follows: 90% height, 90% girth, 90% ability to jump greater than 42 inches, 90% ability to predict the bounce of the ball after it hits the backboard and rim, 90% to know which players are around you including your own teammates, and 90% being able to anticipate what each of these other players will do as you contemplate how you are going to get the ball. Dennis Rodman had all those factors and could get results even in a dress.

Good analysis....as long as you remember to give 110%! There is no "I" in team.
