Getting Impatient

Which of the freshmen do you think will be the next Tiffany Hayes, i.e., a rock-solid star, though not superstar, who will elevate the superstars, be a go-to player on D and O, and be the cog of the future to ensure NC's? Is there one among the Four?

It's pretty bad, Rocky. I'll send you a selfie next time I'm in the bathroom there. Or maybe not....:p

It's been 8 or more years since Southbranch and I took in a game at XL and maybe 7 for Gambel. I can't recall having to use the john at Gambel; those were the good old days! College boys and beer: yeah, I can see the place now.

I am hoping for a Steady Eddie presence coming out of Texas if she can put a mean face on and mean it.

If the Huskies' season started today, I'd be just fine with that. For right now, I'm just trying to deal with their absence from my Samsung.

You know, this could be the team that we talk about for many years after their season is completed. They lack nothing.
I am right there with you I spent an hour yesterday just watching highlight videos from last season.

My prediction for a real breakout season is someone who has not yet received a mention in this thread, and that's Kia Nurse. A lot of people expected that in her junior year, although it didn't quite happen that way as we know. But she set the foundation for it, and if Kia stays healthy this year, she could be a big difference-maker in a lot of games.

I believe she'll be the team's undisputed floor general, and although not a natural point guard, I think we'll see her execute it as one of, if not the best, in WCBB. Her three-ball will be solid, and may well lead the team for percentage made, as it did last year. I expect that her few past problem areas, like the occasional out-of-control drive to the hoop, will be largely solved. And as usual, she'll be bring a defensive intensity that brings a feeling of horror to most opponents before they even step onto the court.

If the scoring is as balanced among the team as many of us expect, she may even be a contender to make the wall of honor. That last one is not exactly a prediction I'm making, but let's watch and keep our fingers crossed!

Some of us are just trying to keep the board active until the season starts. Not everybody likes a ghost town.
Just for you.
I've always been a big advocate of people skipping over threads and comments that they are not interested in. The OT is always a good filter to go by, jus sayin.

The first guard off the bench will be Crystal Dangerfield, when the starting lineups are announced!

Speaking of being impatient, I just went on Stubhub to check on tickets for the UConn-Maryland game in Hartford...........prices ranged from $89 all the way to $599 per seat in a not particularly good corner section down low..........I guess I'll have to wait for single ticket sales unless these guys come to their senses..............

Even if the person being replaced for a breather, 2 quick fouls or whatever is the 2 guard? I know, I know... it's the dynamic on the floor, position labels matter little at UConn, yaddah, yaddah ... but Crystal Dangerfield is a point guard and putting her in as thee SG could be less than productive.

OK, allow me to clarify: Since the starting point guard is frequently introduced last, Crystal will be the second guard to come off the bench as the team set to take the floor is announced!
