Georgetown Post Game Thread - Reed Double Double

Most big programs have sports psychologists, I know a lot do for a fact and even IMG does, so they more than likely have some in their athletic department.

It’s not an insult to say, I think we all agree he needs it. His shot is busted and it’s not due to form.

We do have one on staff. IIRC basketball and football have their own. Other sports share a couple. They're on the faculty

As expected, every team is going to give us their best shot - thankfully the Huskies have answered every time. I gotta think we'll push through conference play and roll out those A caliber games when they matter most at the end of the season.
Every team is jacked against us. Beating UConn is like winning the Superbowl for them. Imagine how hard it is for our guys to match the intensity of these "have-nots" they're up against.

And what do you base that opinion on? I really want to know, being serious.
Because that's how it works, pollsters are all about what have you done for me lately. Iowa State would drop out of #2 with one loss and UConn remaining with one loss no matter if it was a close loss or a blowout for ISU, it happened to be a blow out.

Go back and read post #214. This is where this argument started. In that post We are UConn said the following:

FearThePups

No it won’t. Iowa state just lost its 2nd game this week.

I was saying that because Iowa State lost 2 games this week, there was no chance we wouldn’t move up to #2. We are UConn said he was skeptical we would move to #2 because we eked out the W.

Now if Iowa State did win today, they would have only one loss on the year to Kansas and we’d have 1 loss as well to Kansas. So my question is how do you know that we would have flip flopped in the rankings Monday with Iowa State?
We didn't lose to Kansas, we beat them at Allen Fieldhouse. Our one loss was to #1 Arizona in a game Reed and Mullins didn't play in.

This is already past the point where you guys clog up threads with idiocy. Who cares about this irrelevant point? Can’t one of you be the bigger person and just let it go? Again, who cares?

The idea of benching Solo is quite a bit extreme, but he needs something, perhaps a no basketball day during this week off to clear his head. A couple times against Seton Hall and two (possibly three) times today he got a pass when he was in position to put up a three point shot and hesitated, then passed the ball or dribbled. Last season he would shoot immediately. Something is in his head that needs to get out.

I'm thinking that Malachi's diminished performance while Silas is continuing to improve is not a coincidence. When Mal get playing time he may be trying to do too much, thinking his opportunities will be limited.

Yes, in the second half Georgetown was called for more fouls than we were but that doesn't mean the refs didn't ignore a lot of grabbing and holding on there part.

Anyone who isn't pleased with our record needs to reassess their expectations. We're never going to go through an entire season looking like the '23 or '24 team did in the NCAA tournament. How often have we been 18-1?

I know this isn't scientific. But after the game my wife said, "They're trying to kill us."

Yeah, I concur.

Yep you are correct. My bad.

Suffice to say at 12 pages deep for a single game post summary here is my thought:

If every game from here on out thru to the natty title game is a 2 pt win from us we get our 7th, 3 in 4 years, yet 12+ pages of comments will be after every game.

I can see this argument.

Yes, I’m extremely glad we won. This may prevent us from moving to #2 though.
No attack but ya think? If we do should Georgetown break into the top 25 at #3?
But the BE used to be great. It isn't now.
Great observation that have passed many by. Last look the AP top 25 had us at #3 and Seton Hall @ #25. The old Big East just ain't what she used to be.

Laugh all you want. You know it’s true

Tell me one time today or against SH where you felt comfortable with us against a press???
I wasn’t worried about it at all. I don’t recall the press forcing a single turnover. This year’s team handles the ball so much better than last year’s team. I am quite concerned about their three point shooting and their rebounding.

.-.
We barely beat an awful team. Down right pitiful performance overall. Our offense looks broken and so do our shooters. Judging from this game, we don’t belong in the top 10. We can’t cover a spread to save our lives.Figure it out Hurley!
Well, we know why you posted this one....

About the same. I believe Xavier beat Cinci earlier in year if you need some perspective.
ken pom has cincy at 54 and gtown at 101. Penn st is at 106 and is probably a good comp. Penn St lost to michigan by 2

Am I the only person not at all concerned? We're 18-1 and that loss has valid reasons behind it. We're off to one of the best starts we've ever had in conference. The Big East is and always has been a rock fight....so we win a rock fight and it's still not good enough?

I don't fear any other team in the country. We'll be #1 soon and we'll be the #1 or #2 overall seed come March. If you nancies need to handwring and cry your way to the 7th title, have at it. I sure won't.

No it won’t. Iowa state just lost its 2nd game this week.
Duke could jump us.
Well, we know why you posted this one....
shouldn’t be hard to beat a terrible team by double digits but apparently that’s too much to ask for. They need to play better because eventually they will start losing these close games.

Duke isn't jumping us by beating Cal & Stanford. ISU lost twice on the road, Purdue just got past USC. We'll be 2.

My guess is AZ, Uconn, UM, Purdue, Duke.

.-.
The amount of you who don’t know how the AP poll works is exhausting.

Because your just loud, confident, and wrong

UConn is obviously moving up to 2. They always were if they beat GTown.
