Interviews with Geno are always great listening.

Love the way he teases we fans. Always keeping us on the edge of our seats wanting more info!!!
I think Geno has already received “silent” verbals from several coveted recruits in the ‘24 and ‘25 classes. Until those recruits publically declare, we won’t hear or know anything.

Recruits have various reasons for the timing of their reveal. Geno seem to be happy with who he has in the pipeline, so I guess we can too.

It's unlikely there is a silent recruit for 2025 at the moment. Geno's comments point to someone in 2024.

I am bookmarking Carnac's post for future reference. :D

2023 - And if you see who we recruited this year,
2024 - and once you find out who's coming next year
2025 - and the following year,
we're not going anywhere."

The problem is that last "and" before "following year" was never spoken by Geno. It was misattributed to him by Maggie Vanoni.

Geno said, Once you find out who's coming next year...the following year...

I'm about 100% certain he was differentiating between "this" year ('23) and "next year" ('24).

I've never used "the following year" to describe the upcoming year. Even without "next year" I would assume the "following year" means the year after next. Differentiating between this year and next year doesn't make much sense with out I use the english language personally. Its also worth noting the Geno specifically uses pauses in places of "and" quite frequently when speaking.

Fair point. Regardless, it's like saying "I bought your xmas presents for the next two years but I'm not telling you anything" LOL

Fingers crossed that he's dipping into the Lithuanian talent pool.

I do believe the team is going to Lithuania/Croatia/Italy this summer. Maybe there is a reason for the Lithuania stop over???

Maybe that was Geno's way of saying a little birdie just flew into the nest?

UCONN has some size right now they just need better health. I noticed right after the loss that Geno seemed to have that sparkle back in his eye and that hunger he needs to be his best. 14 years they were barely challenged and this year they lost with talent that should have had them back there and he knows it. His excitement for the future should give all of us fans excitement too. I wouldn't be surprised to see them rout everyone next year on their way to title 12.
Completely agreed regarding his excitement and demeanor. I really feel like the second the season ended, it provided a sense of closure to the never ending injury debacle. You get to take a breath, and look toward next year. Where at this point, you have the optimistic outlook on player availability once again.

Juste J. ... she passes, she drives and hit and ONE, she is smooth.
Don't you think that she may have a good deal with that French
team...(I think it was the one in Lyons??). Time will tell.

I hope that Gabby can persuade her!

Probably, but he’s already aware of what their value is. There are very few dominating bigs in WBB. Auriemma recruits many of them but if they don’t want to go to UConn what should he do? Recruiting isn’t like a grocery store or a draft. He can’t just select what he wants.

Whoever gets Toby Fournier I think is gonna get a potentially transcendent player in the women's game. Her dunking ability at just 6'2 is amazing.
Has she trimmed her list down? I know back in the winter, she had a list of eight schools. Arizona was among that list.
