We have seen a great many fantastic basketball players come through Storrs, and if we retired all of them there wouldn't be any numbers left. But, entering the Hall of Fame, that is a definite YES.

Agree. ( We are also going to lose number 10 and number three soon enough.)

So do we now retire #32?
I believe that that is the rule. You have to be inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame. Down the line in a few years we will see Sue's; Diana's; Maya's and Breanna's numbers retired as well.

Maybe we will run out of numbers, Geno will have to let them use 1,0, and 00. HA!

If you think about it, it would be pretty tough to actually “run out” of numbers, but pretty easy to run out of the popular ones. Not that that should make a difference. I like the Connecticut rule of retiring players numbers if they make the Naismith Hall of Fame.

Number 23 will be sooner. Possibly next year?

The requirement is now only 3 years after retirement, but Maya hasn't announced yet. She's holding out on her options.

Why do people frequently overlook Tina? By the time she is finished, she'll probably be #1 in rebounding and #2 in scoring in the WNBA.

Great point. I’m as guilty of that as anyone. No WNBA championships perhaps?

That's the only thing missing on her resume. ROY, MVP, NPOY, scoring leader, rebounding leader, WC Golds, Olympic Golds, NCAA titles, one of the key players on the only back-to-back undefeated teams in NCAA history. Maybe this year for a WNBA title??
