Wednesday evening...we play Xavier in Hartford.
Doesn't Geno normally talk about the upcoming game before the day prior?
In any case I hope we get some [good] news about our very own wonderkin
when Geno speaks...you KNOW the first question that the press will pose to
him.

Nothing on YouTube yet, but it's still early in the afternoon, obviously.

A report early today stated she was at a pro game last night shooting a NIL video and appeaared quite normal and in good cheer. It's a UConn blogger the name escapes me.

Found it. At 4:41

The Orlando Magic played the Knicks at MSG last night. She could have been there

The team was there. They got Verizon phones from Paige’s. I’m assuming that’s what the video was

I was intrigued by Geno's somewhat offhand comment about the starting lineup for this week. He was asked if it was a simple matter of putting Ashlynn back into the lineup in Paige's place, and he said (paraphrasing), "That would certainly be the easiest thing to do. It wouldn't require us to become a different team." To me, he seemed to be implying that putting KK in the starting lineup would change the team's approach more than going with Ashlynn would. Presumably that is because KK would introduce a different dynamic to the starting lineup (more penetration and less perimeter shooting), whereas Ashlynn would be more like "Paige lite".

But doesn't the same problem arise when KK comes into the game after 5 minutes? Doesn't the team then have to adjust in the same way that it would if KK were a starter? Or is the idea to introduce a new dynamic five minutes into the game so that the opponents don't get too accustomed to it?

I wish he would elaborate about his thinking on this subject.

Geno loves KK and what she is doing, but still feels that Kaitlyn has more to offer in directing traffic in offensive sets, especially when he is trying to see if he can develop the half court - Jana in the post system to some degree of success. When push comes to shove and he has to go to the 4 guard pressing - harassing defense type system then KK is the leader of the pack.

Geno tends to like to keep the opponent's coach in the dark, and allow the flow of the game "elaborate on his thinking."

Practice is the players opportunity to provide evidence of being coachable, which in turn gives him the "feeling/concept" and the actual competition causes the substitution process to drive the pace, and Geno's responses are to react to mismatches, and to cause the opponent to react to the mismatches Geno causes.

Most times Geno is playing chess while the opponent is playing checkers. This will continue until USCar where Dawn will also be playing chess, and should be an epic battle and last real checkpoint of the progress the Huskies have made since uNd & USoCal showed improvement was needed before the NCAA tourney...

Go Huskies!!!

I'm glad he doesn't. Some game planning is best held close to the vest. We're not the only ones watching these pressers.
