Geno on Sarah

The real scary part is that she's mentoring Blanca, whom she seems to play better with than Serah. I believe it's because they are interchangeable and the fact that their games mirror each other, making them seem like connected twins on the court. And the evidence is glaring once Blanca checks in, replacing Serah, Uconn goes on a run, expanding their lead with Blanca up top and Sarah down low. Not to mention the bonus of Sarah getting the rebound and pushing the ball up court, which Serah cannot do. It's another example of Sarah's greatness, making others great as well.

They're both great players, but they have different mindsets. Strong very much plays at her own pace. She doesn't get sped up. Her demeanor almost looks like she's going through shooting drills.

Blanca on the other hand is innately aggressive. It seems like her default is the accelerator pressed all the way to the floor. Her instinct is to drive, or take the three if it's there, but she's definitely looking to score. In some ways, she reminds me of a young Mo Jeff, not withstanding the obvious size difference. If Sarah is in fact, mentoring her, I hope she is reinforcing the ideas that you can use your speed selectively in that a good pass that sets up a teammate to score is just as productive as scoring yourself.

To be clear, Blanca is very good. Though she has a ton of experience, it is an experience in our system. As she becomes more selective in terms of when she drives, and when she gives up the ball, she is going to be an even more amazing player..
