1. Diana>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>EDD

2. Diana's supporting cast >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> EDD's supporting cast. To your point, Annie, and BT may not have become the players many thought, but UD doesn't have any high-profile kids other than EDD. Annie was a high school #1. She never became a prima donna, but she was a terrific supporting player her first two seasons, and a luxury to have in that role.

Alex, with all due respect, I think you missed the point of my post. It was not to compare Diana vs. Elena, UConn vs. Delaware. It was to show that the structure of the 2003 team was similar to the structure of this year's Delaware squad.

It's interesting that UConn doesn't have any of the best players, a coach who hasn't done one of the best coaching jobs of this season (obviously, he's one of the most respected coaches in his professsion on a year in/out basis), and yet somehow, this team is co-champion of an extremely tough league and a national #1 seed. Someone must have done a really good job to get UConn to that point.

Just dumb luck.

I agree, but this happens with Academy Awards as well. How many Best Picture Oscars are awarded to films that years later don't look so good but were more of a fad among critics at the time?
.
Bingo.

I find it funny that there are those who want to give their vote to the St. Bonaventure and probably couldn't pick him out of a crowd and have probably never seen the team play.

Harry Perretta gets my vote every year. I love his knowledge of the Xs and Os. I think he has an incredible basketball IQ.

When your one superstar is in the discussion for greatest WCBB player of all time and your role-players include a national #1 high school recruit and kids who'd go on to have productive WNBA careers, it's not really comparable, or a basis for saying that was Geno's best coaching job. He did an excellent job that season getting four new starters to understand their roles, but still, it's easier when you have Diana and they don't.

I get the point of Camrn. It is about the role that EDD is playing for UD, not a comparison of the two teams. Nobody in their right mind would draw a comparison to that UCONN team to the team that UD has, and I am sure that is not the point that was being made.

Again, it's not even an analgous structure when your centerpiece is an all-time great player.

Of course it is. EDD may go down as one of the greatest of all time, as well. She will probably leave the NCAA as the leading scorer of all time. I suspect that had she gone to UCONN she may very well already have the title of one of the greatest ever to play NCAA basketball. The structure of the UD team is very similar to the structure of the DT UCONN team. The supporting cast is much less capable, however.

Once again, this is a comparison of the structure of the team, not a comparison of players. But this comparison seems to be incomprehensible. But we all have our own way of looking at things, fortunately.
