On tonight's 60 minutes, they did a segment on the Intensity of Dan Hurley. They mentioned Geno's advice to Dan, after the three losses in Maui last November. This advice should be shared with Boneyard posters.

Geno " If the only outcome that makes you a successful coach or a successful season is whether you hang up a National Championship banner, then you should get out immediately." Wise words. (I edited this excerpt, hope it works.)

I like his comment to the follow up question, 'Did that register?'
Hurley, 'Not at the moment, because in the back of my mind, I'm saying, then what in the heck am I in this for, but he stayed at practice and kept coaching me, barking at me a little bit, the joy of relationships with your players, the joy of getting the most out of your team....'

Geno used to be like Dan on drugs, but over the course of 4 short decades he has mellowed a little bit. Remarkable how getting closer to the end changes your outlook on life (and basketball).

Here's a thought, don't their wives deserve some kind of trophy?

Dan's Hurley's wife did appear in the segment. Her role was discussed. If you get a chance, I think you would enjoy the entire segment.
