I see DC there too on TV. Can’t make out the other guys. At least one seems big enough to be a recruit. Anyone know if we’re hosting anyone else?
Clingan said this week that he expects to be at the majority of UConn games this season. He couldn't go to the CCSU game because it's a dead recruiting period and couldn't accept free tickets from UConn. I guess if he really bleeds Husky blue he could have scalped tickets. :)

1 Castle
2 Griffiths
3 Edwards
4 Bowen
5 Miranda

A kid can dream, can’t I? ;)

On a serious note, no idea how realistic this is, and I’m not sure if Edwards and Bowen would be able to play together.

They can play together. Edwards is 3 but closer to a 2 than a 4. And Bowen probably isn't playing any 3 without a big jump in his skill set.

I don't think Edwards is likely, so I wouldn't get our hopes up. Not sure we're at that top-10 level of recruiting quite yet. A few years (and a couple lottery picks) away, probably.

Bowen might be doable. Tough to get excited with UK and Duke sniffing around though.

He's referencing the class of 2023 recruits. Karaban is in the class of 2022
Gotchya - I was reading quickly and thought the reference was to a lineup versus a class. I'd be shocked if we ever brought in those kinds of numbers in one class even if we could. :)

I would agree. A realistic class would be Castle, Griffiths, MAYBE Bowen, Miranda. I would be shocked if we somehow got Edwards. I could also see us getting Ducharme for guard/skill depth... redshirt kinda guy

RANGE

Right when I turned it on he hit a three from the top, a minute later he got a steal and got stopped in the lane spun and was fouled, he still went up and dunked it from a standstill, dunk didn't count. Had a missed three from the wing and the lane just opened up for him and he had a huge tomahawk dunk. Getting "hometown hero" chants.

  • Competition level is good not great. Better than BCHS but less than any of our 2021 recruits would have faced in HS.
  • Handle is good not great for a 6’7 player. Not a breakdown ballhandler or anything, but can do a little work in the half court. TO prone in the open court.
  • Pretty weak for what we normally recruit. Effects his rebounding, getting through screens and fighting contact.
  • Not sure he’ll be doing much on the boards in college without getting stronger. He has good hands but pushed around a ton.
  • Kid can shoot the bejeezus out of the ball. Might have a purer stroke than Hawkins in HS, and that’s saying something.
  • Soft hands around the rim
  • Confident at the FT line
  • Seems to have pretty long arms
  • Basically getting double-teamed every time he touches the ball inside the 3 point line, and sometimes out.
  • Better passing than I saw in AAU. Seems to be a point of improvement
  • Not a super+ athlete… it still will effect his defense and offense. Maybe we’re spoiled with Rese and Andre–idk. He does look like he has better and quicker hops than he demonstrated in AAU. Maybe just the lower competition level making him look better, idk
  • I’ll give him credit though–his positional defense is solid and he sees to stay in front of guards and the other teams bigger players too on defense.
  • Seems to have a solid BBIQ on offense. Defense idk… effort is less than you’d like to see but that’s pretty true of most recruits. Falls for the crossover a bit too much. Gives up when they hedge the screen on getting back into the play
  • Nice footwork on the catch to shoot. Seen him use a hopstep and a 1-2 step to get into his shot. Underrated skill.
  • I’m not seeing a ton of big defensive lapses in terms of positioning. Generally in the right spots
  • Played maybe 26 minutes

I was going to write a report but you're much better at it than me. I wonder if there's a better three point shooter in the class...I doubt it. Kid can hit from everywhere, he even drains them when the play is dead.

I was able to watch about half of it and I totally concur with your assessment. I'm a bit on the fence with him as he does seem a bit duplicative to Karaban but it'll be interesting to see his development over the next 6-12 months.
