Built restrooms on fast trackThere’s about 200 urinals for a 10,000 seat arena, short of renovations porta potties would be the easiest short term option. Again, if integrated into a more permanent looking component like a beer garden or something. Of course it’s not ideal, but rather than being critical, how about you propose something?
Some insight may be near…
We have noticed that the steps in the lower bowl are rather 'trippy' and older folks/people with issues have trouble with them. Really sketchy. People stumble all the time. Assuming replacing seats would mean replacing steps, too.Just listened to the podcast. AD DB didnt address the seating issue other than to say they are replacing the lower bowl seats next year. No mention of reneging on "forever seats" and whether that's what they will do. UConn has $100 million for Gampel renovations over the next 5 years.
Yep, from what I understand it’s the entire retractable part of the lower bowl. It’s hit end of life so the entire “bowl” is being replaced. We have noticed that the steps in the lower bowl are rather 'trippy' and older folks/people with issues have trouble with them. Also, now that volleyball has their own dedicated facility, there's no need to have retractable seats.Yep, from what I understand it’s the entire retractable part of the lower bowl. It’s hit end of life so the entire “bowl” is being replaced.
Gampel is stilll technically a convention center too. They host events and graduation there with the seats retracted. Maybe that will change with the renovations but from what I understand the new seats are still retractable. Also, now that volleyball has their own dedicated facility, there's no need to have retractable seats.
My understanding is just the opposite.Gampel is stilll technically a convention center too. They host events and graduation there with the seats retracted. Maybe that will change with the renovations but from what I understand the new seats are still retractable.
Oh cool, maybe I misunderstood. Even more interested to see what they’re putting in now.My understanding is just the opposite.
Same. It wouldn't surprise me if they went with some type of club seating format, which I don't love, though it is undoubtedly lucrative, because I'd rather see more people having access to the arena.Oh cool, maybe I misunderstood. Even more interested to see what they’re putting in now.
Is there a time frame for when it will be done?XL just sent out an email with a renovation update. Included a map of where the new premium seating is going. View attachment 105370
I’d imagine the student section needs to move with the club space going on that side.
Isn't the proposed club space opposite the current student section?XL just sent out an email with a renovation update. Included a map of where the new premium seating is going. View attachment 105370

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure the shorter upper level "end zone" area is on the same side as the student section.Isn't the proposed club space opposite the current student section?
Yea, it’s shorter because that’s the side the bar went in.I don't think so. I'm pretty sure the shorter upper level "end zone" area is on the same side as the student section.
This time next year.Is there a time frame for when it will be done?

It already backs up into the new bar area. Not sure how it could be extended up.Looks to me like they are extending the student section further up.
Shouldn’t you factor in timing? Like when all 5000 need to go at halftime?Assuming that approximately half of the attendees at a sports event are male (which is a reasonable estimate), we can calculate as follows:
Thus, for a 10,000-seat arena, it would be appropriate to provide approximately 100 urinals to ensure that male attendees have sufficient access during events.
- Estimate Male Attendees:
- For a 10,000-seat arena:
- Estimated male attendees = 10,000 / 2 = 5,000 males.
- Apply the Ratio:
- Using the ratio of 1 urinal per 50 males, we calculate:
- Total urinals needed = 5,000 males / 50 = 100 urinals.
Final Answer: The recommended number of urinals for a 10,000-seat arena is 100 urinals.
What is the age of the average male fan? We older guys may require urinal use with greater frequency. Something to take into consideration, especially with $3 beer night!Assuming that approximately half of the attendees at a sports event are male (which is a reasonable estimate), we can calculate as follows:
