Games Feb. 3-9

Kentucky leading Alabama by 2 w/ 26 seconds left.

Minnesota blitzing Wisconsin, up 43-19 at the half, in a road game that I thought could be really tricky for them.

Ohio State, meanwhile, in a closer than expected game at Illinois, up 33-29 at the half.

One of our Arizona resident's has an interest in Northern Arizona. They are thumping Idaho St. 34-16 about midway thru Q2.

Missouri beat Georgia 73-65 in Athens. Were the Bulldogs expected to be this bad? 12-11 overall and 3-7 in SEC.

Iowa turned a close game in the first half into a comfortable win over Nebraska, 76-60, extending the nation's 2nd longest home win streak.

Kathleen Doyle continues her POY-caliber campaign with 15 points and 15 assists.

They may run out of time, but Wisconsin has cut the lead down to 9 w/ 4:44 remaining.

Ohio St. up 69-55 w/ a bit under 3 minutes left.

What an epic collapse this would be.
Wi cut it to 7 a minute ago, not an 8-point game with 2:20 to play.

Scalia just left the game on some fluke injury. Not sure what happened.

Wow, what a turn of events here.

MN scored on a lucky 3, and then on the next possession coach Tsipis picked up a tech arguing a call.

Rice struggled in OOC but they are rolling thru C-USA. Undefeated still. Ogwumike w/ 25 points and 9 boards tonight in a win over UAB.

In the crazy SoCon.... UNC-G is reeling.... lost tonight to UTC .... that makes 3 losses in their last 4 games. My Spartans are in trouble. And a few of yall might have not taken me seriously last week when I said that Mercer was the best 4-17 team in the country..... well tonight they knocked off the Fierce Terriers of Wofford. Without a doubt... Mercer is the best 5-18 team in the country.

Yeah they have to be so disappointed with their OOC results. I mean they lost to SMU for .

I didn't think so in December, but C-USA could get at-large bids if Rice wins the tourney. Old Dominion and Western Kentucky are very much on the bubble, and MTSU isn't out of it either.

I don't feel like looking up every 5-18 team in the country, so I'll take your word for it.
I think my niece's freshman high school team is 5-18, and I'd like their chances in a game against Mercer :D

As a sidenote....Mercer was picked #1 by the Media in the preseason polls. As you may know the Bears completed back to back undefeated regular seasons in the SoCon... and won back to back SoCon Tournament Titles. Guess the Media didnt take into effect the huge graduation losses down in Macon. At this point of the season.... I have no idea who is gonna win the tourney.

Oops. NAU was up 23-8 after Q1 and led as much as 32-11 in Q2. They lost 79-76.

Already one significant result: Harvard uses a strong 2nd half to beat Yale, who was previously undefeated in the Ivy League.

Yale has a good RPI, now #38 even after this loss, and an outside shot at an at-large bid with their quality OOC win at North Carolina. They'll need to minimize this type of loss and/or get at least one win over league leader Princeton to help their cause.

St. Johns spanking Depaul 40-28 early in 3Q

HPU, UNC-G, and NCA&T all road games starting at 2pm today. One good thing about A&T switching conferences, is that all their games will be streamed. Definitely not the case now.

A barn burner in the Big South.... The Blue Hose of PC were comfortably in the lead... but the Lancers of Longwood are on a 14-0 run to take the lead 64-61 with 39 seconds left in the game

But PC ties it up on a long 3 pointer...... headed to overtime..... 64-64.

@nwhoopfan @LoTrader @domerduck Cant remember the other Oregon State fans..... but do yall remember Eddie Payne? I knew the name sounded familiar.... he coached for years here in NC... but he is working as the Analyst at the HPU vs USC-Upstate game. I guess he does it for both the men's and the womens..... he coached the men's team for Upstate for about 15 years.

HPU is torching the Spartans 36-12 so far.

In the crazy SoCon, UNC-Greensboro leads 29-11 over ETSU.... ETSU was fortunate to get to 11 points. My Catamounts of Western Catamounts currently lead 30-19 over UT-C. This would be a huge victory for the rebuilding Catamounts.. as they are currently 1-7 in the league.

In the Big South.... the Powerful Camels of Campbell lead UNC-A 25-24 at the half.

I’m at the Rice-MTSU game, and Rellah Boothe is on the court. She just scored on a baby hook over Nancy Mulkey. She also had a nice steal in open court that led to some FTs for a teammate. She played the first couple minutes of 2Q and then was subbed for. Definitely not in game shape.

.-.
Well, can’t say Rellah hasn’t been productive in her limited minutes.

She came back in the game in the last couple minutes of the half, and quickly got a defensive rebound, then an O board and put-back with an and-1. She also hit a nice midrange jumper from the elbow.

The down side is she picked up 2 fouls in less than 5 minutes. I guess that’s an improvement over her first appearance on Jan. 30, where she got 2 fouls in one minute

As for the game, Rice is up by 12 at the half and Ogwumike leads with 13 points.

In the crazy SoCon... Western Carolina ends its 21 game losing streak to UT-Chattanooga with a gutsy 63-55 victory. First road win of the year for MY Catamounts. UNC-G wins on the road at ETSU 65-45. Mercer again knocks off one of the upper tier SoCon teams with a win vs Furman. The red hot Bears improve to 6-18. Next up.... first place Samford. Don't beat against the Bears.... best 6-18 team in the country.

In the MEAC.... NCA&T goes on the road and gets thumped by Bethune Cookman...70-50.

In the Big South, both HPU and Campbell were victorious.... setting up a HUGE matchup on Tuesday Night over in the Panther's Den (Lair?)

@nwhoopfan @LoTrader @domerduck Cant remember the other Oregon State fans..... but do yall remember Eddie Payne?

Barely. Unlike the women, the men's team has gone a long time without much success and has been thru quite a few coaches.

Gonzaga off to a slow start, down 11-1 to St. Mary's 5 minutes into the game. The Gaels started 4-0 in conference but have gone 1-7 since.

18-4 SMC thru Q1. Wake up GU, there is a game going on.

SMC got the first bucket of Q2, then a 12-0 run for GU. They just needed a quarter to get warmed up.
