Well let me get this in here before we move on to the off-season.
I too congratulate UCLA on their championship. They placed no doubt that they were the best team all season. Sometimes the numbers do bore out and should be payed attention to which they weren’t for this tournament.
My feeling had the Final Four as the possible ceiling for this team coming in, though Chloe going down brought some doubt. But the gradual improvement brought back my confidence in this team. I should have known better b/c Dawn’s teams, w/o fail, always improve come February and March.
This team exceeded my expectations by making the Final. Taking down UConn from their undefeated perch could not have been sweeter. Geno showing his ass self to the world was icing on the cake. I hope he’s able to one day find the Gamecock that tore up Sarah Strong’s jersey.
The only disappointment was for the second straight year the ladies failed to show up and the game ended in another blowout. Just not a very good look for the record books.
Anyway, on to next year. Interested to see if the NCAA gets off their dead asses and makes a decision on Madina by tomorrow afternoon, if we lose anyone to the portal, and who we can bring in from the portal (Kymora Johnson come on down). Oh, and in a couple weeks we’ll also have our last birdie in the nest officially signed.
