Game Week 2025: UConn @ Boston College Eagles (Saturday 10/18/25 at Alumni Stadium @ Noon on ACCN - Audio on UConn Varsity Network & Fox Sports 97.9)

It's not just the "Little brother to the south" BS but this use of "UConn" twice in a row to show his disgust with us...
our horrendous 2010 decade, up to 2021, is still a cloud hanging over us, and honestly it probably will always be the "ace in the hole" used by our haters over and over, until we join a P4 conference. A lot of college football is marketing and perception (or perhaps, propaganda), so those who hate us will do whatever they can to drive our brand value DOWNNNNN.
UConn has no one to blame but themselves - we gave them that ammo.

not saying I like it.. it's just what it is.

This BC "hack" isn't alone in using our bad 2010 decade, against us. it's the last card they have left to play, in feeling better about themselves. Everyone we play is doing it, honestly - even some of the G6 schools we've played in the JM era, have spoken pretty condescendingly about us, on their boards.

I agree with all of that, but the dbags on those boards aren't "journalists" that cover UConn sports from a little crappy newspaper in Connecticut.

Mike DiMauro surely isn't a pathetic loser or anything, he plays for both sides! He can't lose

Total troll setup. If attendance doesn't rise to his expectations, his next column will be a poke in the eye saying that we don't have a fanbase.

Do explain what you disagree with - he is a hack, UConn is clearly not BC's little brother, and BC has feared UConn for decades (someone my family knew who was a very active UConn insider/donor told us in the 80's that BC feared what UConn could become because he heard it directly from his monied counterparts at BC). Take a look at BC's track record over the past decade or two and UConn's over the same span and lo and behold, BC was correct with their worries.
BC’s logic for blocking us from the ACC was that they wanted to be New England’s premier school. They were clearly worried about being overshadowed by us but the issue is that based on how things have turned for both programs on a national scale, that was going to happen regardless. Delaying the inevitable.

The fact is that blocking UConn ironically hurt BC more than anyone else: instead of building a potential regional rivalry to keep fans engaged, they further isolated themselves in a time they were already diminishing as a brand. There is no practical benefit to being New England’s only team

Dimauro annoys me when he refers to us as LBTTS. Little Brother to the South. We are much more successful at Athletics than they are.

I didn't think it was that bad... yes, the typical slant, and definitely a setup to eventually crow that UConn fans aren't serious about wanting to support big time athletics, but the message about the need to focus on and support the football program with a goal of elevating the entire athletic department revenues (benefitting all of the sports) is accurate.
