I'm with ya. The lack of effort and emotion and giving a crap is appalling. Is hard to even root for them when they play like his. I want them to win but I almost resent them
 
Looks like we have a bunch of pick up players. No solid screens, no rebounding at either end and zero on man defending. Folding chairs guard better than these guys.

Same defense against Depaul but this team is not Depaul.

And for all those citing the Syracuse game, that was a 20 pt blow out once they reverted to the form we've been seeing all season.

Wolf shouldn't be in during the biggest game of the year and down almost 10! and especially with Olander! 3 for 4 minutes of that were down 20 no doubt. WTF was blaney thinking? I can see JC pulling his hair out watching that. Is it me or does blaney SUCK at putting the right men out their?.. I honestly think if he doesn't do that we weather the storm and stay close. Completely deflated our team that was so stupid.

It won't work, they just don't have enough pride to even be embarrassed. They'll just go home and play XBox later. It is sad to see how bad Marquette wants it, and then to see how little UConn does.

Why are we always seeming to shoot the ball with less than 6 secs on the clock? So frustrating (and boring) to watch.
 
can live with mistakes, can live with lack of talent....NO excuse for lack of effort. NONE

I don't care if they go down 20 or 30. Start the second half with the walkons. Of course it won't happen....but too bad.

Charlie Villanueva guards better than these guys!

And Gottlieb talking about how Blaney was worried about the team's energy is just plain sad. Sounds like Blaney saw this coming while Buzz was running practice at 7am. Blaney is a total joke, and the lack of effort definitely has something to do with him being on the sidelines.
 
Maybe these guys are thinking they'll somehow turn it on in the Big East tournament like last year.

That will not happen this year though

Grades 1st half:

Boatright - F ...... passing up open looks to make something happen which reulted in very little....use the backboard when close....quit throwing alley oops they're awful

Bazz - C .......... passed up too many open looks, shoot the ball but otherwise not too bad...........

Lamb - C .........missed long rebounds from being lazy......made shots not awful

Alex - F ...........lazy as hell on defense, lost the ball on 1st possession and had no heart on help D...stupid fouls from being lazy

Andre -D ........taken away from the basket but still moves too slow, made 2 real dumb fouls as per usual and not good

Roscoe - D ......made a couple shots or else a solid F....came in right away and watched his guy score off a rebound and did it again later....stupid lazy fouls also

Tyler - F ..........get a rebound and quit watching.....move your feet....their interior defense is the absolute worst ever

Deandre....?.played decent D on the perimieter with length, received the ball 2 times in a row from Boat where he shouldn't have on the press.....

Wolf - B ..... at least he worked out there and blocked a shot....give him more minutes

Where's Giffey? This team is int he game of their lives and their heart sucks in the 1st half and it's painful to watch. Their intellect for the game is ridiculously low today and if they don't show improvement we will all be watching the dance without them and that sucks. Right now they probably deserve nothing more than the NIT....Bazz didn't give Wolf a hand on the way back to the huddle - that's pitiful and a sign they are lsing this "team". This is very very disappointing to say the least thus far!!!

Everybody say it together..."N-I-T, N-I-T!" Just a horrible performance so far in the biggest game of the year. This will be the signature loss.
 
I had actually considered heading down to the XL and getting a ticket. I am so glad I'm not paying for this.
I agree that the game is officially over when MU hits the 70 mark. No way this UConn team is capable of 41 points this half.
 
terrible first half across the board.......starting with blaney. i am growing tired of seeing that dazed and confused look on his face on the sideline. what was wolf doing? i understand if we need his big body but that shot selection is downright unacceptable. olander has looked awful and is now a liability on the floor. boatright has been playing out of control and sets nothing up on offense..... need more?

Because we stand around on offense until there isn't any time left on the clock. This team has no heart without Kemba.

Wow, how do you just go running into a defender like that? In what world is that even a basketball play?

UConn has played better than Marquette this game, as hard as that is to believe. Poor layups and free throw shooting in first half, ticky tack foul calls from refs, curious lack of calls on hacks of UConn players, plus banked freakin' 3s.

Marquette has no business leading this game.
