It's a new year. I think some needed to be brought back to earth with respect to expectations for this season. It is possible they don't win a national championship this year.

I don't want to set off any alarms as we do have time (in the game and in the season) and get KML back, but this is not a brand of basketball that I'd expect to beat Notre Dame. Just a bit lackluster thus far. Still almost 24 minutes in this game alone.

And I would argue you don't need to play sound fundamental basketball to be National Champions. Long way to go. The season is barely under way. Plenty of time. Now...back to the game.

I know but it's the 3rd game with a much different team. It's going to take time. Like Geno said, it's not going to be fixed in 2 or 3 games. This season might be a work in progress.

Yeah there are tons of teams that win the National Championship that throw the fundamentals right out the window.

Saniya...that shot was so far down and then popped out. Great shot, just didn't fall. Kia's did though.

UConn is up 21 at half time against the #50 ranked team in the country (as per Massey ratings).
Can you imagine how much they would be up if they knew how to play ?

1st half thoughts...

We are out hustling Creighton who, to their credit, continues to hustle hard...we do look a bit winded late in the half...these aren't the iron men of a year ago, yet...

Three point defense...occasionally...without these lapses where would Creoghton find themselves...

Kia Nurse fighting over screens and taking and making tough perimeter shots...coach able and heady...

Breanna Stewart...leading by example and focused...now if she can only guard Geno 1-1...with spacing she is unstoppable...duh...

Morgan Tuck...faster than the other bigs wearing her brace...I hope she never takes it off...she is a rare gem...
 
Geno was right about Stewies defense, it sucks. Faster players go around her, then she fouls trying to recover. Plays too far off her player on the perimeter and gives up the easy three.

The way Morgan is playing might make it tough for Kaleena to get back into the starting lineup.
